    Coxs Craft

Deepblue, I understand your concerns on the Cox craft, a mate has one "Reef runner" that I used prior to purchasing my Barcrusher, the things you point are spot on. I certainly never felt comfortable in the boat.
  2. Wow! congratulations on a great fish, but boy did you cover some miles. How far is the carpark from Port??
  3. Kelvin I agree with your view on the 585 after having mine now for 4 weeks it has outstanding picture quality/definition, I have used mine mostly outside around the Peak, 12 mile etc. I am running the same transducer setup as you, the feature list is great there is a lot to play the bottom lock is great. I comtemplating the 1kw transom mount in the not to distant future
  4. Fishard I agree with what the guys have said here, to specifically target blues you are going out very wide and 24kg is as light as you would want to go and the larger the lure the heavier the line set that hook. Get some advice from Fishfinder as Sammy said. Good luck
  5. Choteo unlucky on the Marlin however what is great to know is your rig and positioning etc works. I trolled out to the shelf for nil, I noted though a lot of Alge in the water. I got my Stripies around the Peak in the afternoon place was going off. Now you have had the strick the bug has bitten.
  6. Yeah your right CFD they run hard on the light stuff and great bait for the tasty stuff.
  7. Very nice looking boat Kelvin hope she brings you lots of fish, I bet the kids will love the extra space.
  8. You cou;d not asked for better weather today, we tried to get some livies in Yarra with no success some opted to go straight out and look for Dollies at the Botany waverider, water temp 22 but no Dollies current as Crazyfisher dude said running North, decided to troll up to the Peak we had no strikes on the way so turned and headed out towards the Shelf. Halfway to the shelf had a strike but hooks failed to hold, the only excitement was my long rigger being taken by a miss guided Gannet warter temp was 23.7 . Anyway we decided to go back to the Peak and when we got there there was a lot of bait and stripe Tuna were going balistic, we landed 3 the largest went 4kg, If these fish got to Yellowfin size youd never land them they put on a great show. By this time the NorEaster had picked up and we left the fish going bonkas. It was a very good day and my son biggest fish to date so that makes it a worth while effort
  9. What a great session, now that is good fishing, you would still be smiling
  10. Pete life deals some savage blows, look after yourself and get better soon.
  11. I just wanted to let you know that Yarra Bay had lots of surface activity today, small schools of fish busting up for short periods of time. I was at Moulinex point just having lunch and they were busting up 10 metres from the point. I noted that a couple of guys were continually driving their boat through the middle of the schools and they would go down, so remember to position the boat upwind and you might get a long cast.
  12. Nice bag of fish there the flatty is a beaut, l done
