  1. Looks like Im in the wrong game then... Im gettin' a job with warringah council. And we wonder where our rates go. I just hope they do a good job and DONT jack the price of parking up. :074:
  2. Due to long lunch breaks, Roseville boat ramp will now be closed till the 29th of June. I passed it today and the sign had changed to the above date...
  3. Too right mate, that would be the sensible thing to do. Pittwater council unfortunately, doesn't have any sense. They would rather spend $40,000 on dredging the front of the lake and it sliding back in from the dunes in weeks. It just beggers belief that the council continue with idiotic practices, squandering our money. At what stage of the game did they think that was a good idea. There was only one winner in that debacle and that was the owner of the dredge. blah blah blah blah....

  8. Nice little setup there Trung, its good to see a plan working out.I have time on my hands at the mo',so Im gonna give it a go. I think the bream will love them too.I might make the tail a little shorter though. I like the single hook setup. I gave trebles away a long time ago. Not for any reason except I got sick of pulling the damn things out of my fingers, hands,jacket,shirt,leg,etc,etc.. i
  9. I live here and own a 14ft tinnie and I dont use that ramp. they say its for the experienced, .I say its for the risk taker. I tried it once when I thought I could handle it (risk taker)...lol and things didnt work out well. Almost swamped her getting it in and retrieve was not my cup of tea, launcing my boat onto the sand next to the ramp was a once only adventure. just my 2 cents worth.. I do wish that something could be done to make it safer, as its ideal for getting to good grounds in a short time.

  15. Went out again early this morning, looking to troll for something big as we had plenty of fish to eat already. The weather left something to be desired, but when your on a roll..... Trolled Barrenjoey and Palm beach in a BIG swell and soon decided that was no fun at all and headed back in to calmer waters. The decision was made to head over to juno and see if anything was going to pop up. We sat around dropping number 4 baitholders on small sinkers to see if any bream were interested.Suddenly 100 mtrs away the birds start to work, so we took off for a look, fishkiller with his number 4 baitholder and a bit of tailor on it casts towards the working birds, not even close and he hooks up on a 2.5kg sambo on 12lb mono, no show for the sambo. I was thinking that we should just go home via Patonga pub and call it a day. The decision was made to take off for home, unfortunately for me fishkiller wasn't interested in patonga, so it was homeward bound. On the way home we decided to have a drift over the weed beds at palmie. We went for the plastics this time.On the third cast I hooked up to what I thought was a sambo, it was taking some serious line off my flick stick/ 6lb mono, so i turned the drag up a notch to stop it running off with all my line. It made a pass along side the boat and turned back still peeling line off. After a couple of minutes I had it up close enough to see it was a big bream. My heart rate went up ALOT. My god, a stonker.I finally got to the boat and netted this 38cm bream.. A PB for me.....Now I can go home, head held high...
  16. Lmao.. As if bro, Im still smarting over the last bashing you gave me. But I would love to catch up and annoy the fish population in botany bay. My bro from qld is lookin' to eat a few kingies and i want to get into the squidies. Im available EVERY day for the next 2 weeks...
  17. My mate "Fishkiller" is down from Qld for a fishing holiday. We have been fishing 11 days out of 13 with some would say, good results. Today we launched at bayview to go for a quick troll and get home before the wind got up. We trolled BJ headland for 1 bonnie, but the wind got up and made it messy so instead of sticking with plan A,go home. We went to plan B. flick light gear over at lion island. I had reloaded my flick stick with new 6lb vanish the day before only to find it was crappie and broke at 2lb, not happy Jan. Fishkiller on the second drift hooked a 60cm flattie, now Im really P****ed off,I still hadn't got a line wet, beated by a Queenslander was not an option. fishkiller kindly let me spool his 6lb mono off his spare reel, and he would later regret that decision. The drift became too quick so the decision was made to move over to flint and steel to see if I could get back into the game.At flint and steel it was still blowing hard, but being addicts we persevered. I pulled a 36cm flattie and fishkiller got some undersized pinkies. We then decided to drift over to the next cove and this is where the fun really started. First thing we saw was a shoal of tiny fish as we drifted past. The decision was made to anchor up from them and slide down till we were on top of the shoal.Fishkiller on prawn and Im on plastic. 1st cast and Im on. 1 zip Second cast Im on, 2 zip. this went on untill I had 5 in the boat.Fishkiller decides enough is enough and reluctantly changes to plastic, OHH, how things changed then. He was on with his 2nd cast and up comes a 58cm model. In the mean time I hook into a big sambo with my 6lb gear, now Im fighting this monster and fishkiller hooks up to a 56cm flattie. Im trying to decide if I should cut the sambo off cos he's taking all my time when I should be smacking the big flatties and staying ahead in the flattie race. I decided to go with the sambo, and of course fishkiller pulled a 55cm flattie out just to make me squeal a little more, now he's got 4 flatties over 50cm. I finally get the sambo in, he goes 58cm, big deal.We hang around and end up with 5 flatties for him, all over 50cm and 8 for me.I win, but I wish I got the biggest too. You can't have everything though. So counting my sambo, bonnie and a stray tailor. I had a good day.So did fishkiller as that was his first outing on plastic, not bad for a novice.Since Fishkiller has been down here, we have eaten fish everyday, twice a day and every which way.And the best bit is, 2 weeks to go....lol. Now where is that monster kingie lurking???,be afraid, very afraid....
  18. All of the area's that are controlled by the port authority..
  19. I went to Port Botany for a land based flick off the wall and security told me that there is no more fishing there due to idiots getting hurt and they are sick of ringing the ambo's..Signs will be erected this week. Another good fishing spot gone. Not long before we have none left...

  23. Done.... and asked for feedback from Mr Stokes too. This for me is very important... you guessed it . I live here and have seen the decline of fish stocks AND the boats 5 abreast trawling up and down for hrs at a time.
