  7. A mate and I went down to the Rose Bay ramp to launch my boat, in search of my first kingfish. We went around to Clifton and sat a few hundred metres awy from it and I picked up a few small snapper,1 small whiting. When daylight come up we moved in closer to the gardens and did small short drifts, then it happened I landed my first King at 62cm.It was great, can't wait to get into them again.I also managed to pick up a Blue swimmer at the gardens. We moved away but everything over to Bradley Head and everything was dead when I got a hit and busted off.Feeling dissapointed we anchored but the wind was picking up.We decided to call it a day when I went to bring my line in I thought I had something and all of a sudden I was snagged.Cut the line and went to bring the anchor in.As I got to the last part of the rope I noticed my line I just cut was hooked into the rope ( no wonder I could not lift it) but my other hook had a 35cm flattie on it and landed. Its a heavy way of bringing a fish up. Overall the day was great and the Kingie was great on the BBQ. Steve better luck next time mate,he did not get a single hook up. Suffo

    Nepean Mystery

When I was up the Nepean and caught up with Stewy and flightmanager, after they had left we saw a fish in the water which looked like a goldfish. We could not get close enough to it but landed the lures on its nose and it didn't even flinch, just swam to the depths. Cheers Suffo

  13. Ensure the BUNGS ARE IN before launching, enough fuel out and back.Everything else is pretty fool proof. Cheers Suffo P.S.never had to do it but I could not imagine anything worse than having to drag a boat full of water back out.Come close once though, remembered just in time.
  14. Don't you hate having to go back at a set time, the fish always come on the bite as you have to leave.Looking forward to this year as both kids are at school. lookin good. SUFFO
  15. WHY IS IT THAT AS SOON AS WE SEE FISH WE WANT TO GO START THE CAR AND BOAT UP AND GO FISHING? WOMEN SAY US BLOKES EVER WANT AND THINK ABOUT ONE THING,BUT ITS NOT WHAT THEY ARE THINKING. WE WANT TO GO FISHING!!!! AND WHEN WE DO IT ON A REGULAR BASIS,THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES THERE IS NO PLEASING THEM SUFFO

  22. My mate told me today he went fishing up Swansea way off the rocks, where other fishos were too.A guy went to fill his bucket with water and got washed in.He ran off to grab the ring and his brother rang the police. When he got back he gave the ring to the fisho with the washed in man and he threw it out to him.Apparently he could not swim or his mate. After about ten minutes the rescue helicopter rocked up drop the recuer who took him about 100m from the rocks then the retrival started. Hopefully not only the gentlemen involved but my mate as well learnt something today on how deadly the sea can be.As they also had no safety gear.(I had a shot at my mate also) Why dont the fisheries make land base fishing make it compulsary for them to have basic safety requirements just like boating??? I saw another post about a similar situation with a recommended basic kit and thought how good it was.I personally do not fish like this as I love going out in the boat as much as possible, but I always ensure I have ALL RECOMMENDED SAFETY GEAR and some. These people need to think of others such as thier families.Nobody plans on going in just ask the survivors as unfortunitly you can NOT ask those who have not. A once of purchase for safety gear of a couple of hundred tops could save your mate or your own life.Go halves even. Nobody likes hearing of something so tragic for a few bucks!!Your combo probally cost more! Take Care always guys even when we are in our boats Cheers Suffo. P.S.Glad the guys OK.
  23. No worries,We will hook something up.Just wait till it gets a little closer as I am working weekends just at the moment.Rotating shift work. Suffo
