ONLY GOING OFF SOME BOOKS I HAVE READ BUT ARE MEANT TO PRETTY GOOD EATING.I LEARNT THIS AFTER THROWING ONE BACK AT ABOUT 110CM AND THEY ARE AT FULL SIZE APPROX 1.2M. CHEERS SUFFO

They just look so dangerous.I usually throw them from net to esky full of ice slushy. Cheers for the advice guys.

The weather was not real good good but had to get out.Launched from Rosebay. Tried fishing in all the most popular places but to no avail not even a nibble from 4 a.m. to 10.30a.m.I was almost ready to head back and call it quites but we saw some surface action between fort Denison,the zoo wharf and Bradley point. Change to a 3 kg outfit with a 2 inch metal slug. Hooking tailor on almost every cast for an hour and half.The tailor were even dancing like salmon do. We saw a seperate flock of birds and headed for them, first cast by us and double hook up to salmon. Top fight with line peeling off.If it wasn't for this frenzy the day was awful. We had one last fish using bait and only managed small snapper,an eel a rock cod. Better than nothing.

I seem to catch a few on the line and it gets hectic in the boat when no-ones game to pic them up. Alot of laughs and excitement though.

Has anyone tried using cable ties on crabs claws to prevent them from nipping you when you catch them? Does it work? Recommend/not recommend? Cheers Suffo

Last minute decision to head to the Hawkesbury as the boss was entering the second day with a migrane,I thought I will get out the house and leave her with it. Took my father along and headed for the water. Headed straight to my favourite flathead spot. Dads very unlucky when it comes to fishing and on his first cast and a few minutes later whilst still rigging my own lines he hooks up to a reasonable fish giving his rod a bit of flex.Thought finally he might land himself a desent Flattie.To my suprise he had hooked himself a 58cm Jew.His first ever and leading 1-0 on me now. Thougt what a start to the day, but unfortunatlly this was about as good as it got with us only landing two small pinkies,an eel 1m and a 33cm Flattie. Still a good day to be out the water with heaps of boats out and about. Cheers Suffo
