  1. Damos, pm and ill give you some info. Ive demoed all 3 profish yaks. They really are all suited for a different style.  The gt is like a rock and very stable, but has a big blunt bow which i felt hurt it's speed. The 440 was more streamline but doesn't have that genius table pod

  2. My list is as follows;

Not one, but two rod and reel combos,

A glass ash tray (the hook just snagged the edge),

And a dart where i got my hook through the eye of a swivel, which was in turn connected to a meter of trace and a hook, to which the fish was attached

  3. Note to all, im also keeping an eye on far north (pittwater) and south (kembla) alternatives in case the weather goes to hell. Meteye is showing south as looking better, but I know there are many raiders that can't get down there.  So please voice opinions here, or pm me

  4. Ok the countdown is on, ive sent out pms to confirm attendance etc. Forecast is showing about 10knot winds so not great.  I'll keep an eye on it and we can hope it drops. Might head to kurnel as it's a southerly. Any other locations in the area that are similar (ie blue waterish) that might help us hide from the wind, let me know :) let's avoid the hacking though

  5. I said u wouldn't but here i go...

Looking to upgrade yaks.  Not interested in a peddle kayak, paddle only. Currently I'm in an ebay hull, so im looking for something well worth the upgrade. Im looking for more speed and little to no reduction in stability.  At the moment I'm looking at a viking profish reload. Thoughts, opinions and alternatives?

    Cheers all

  6. Don't ask.....

Got it early, got a live squid and some yakka and headed out to molly point. I got a 62 kingie, whilst Allen jigged a smaller version but also landed a massive bloody Trevally going 42 i think. There were reports of big sharks as well but lalala

As the fishing slowed i suggested to Allen "hey, wanna go out to the drums". So we go out and have a look and about 15 minutes after we arrive we watch these blokes in a tinnie try to stand, and there she goes! The boat rolls and old mates over board. Im convinced the boat was going under so we head off to help. When we arrive the 'captain' (70 yo aussie) is in the boat which is some how still floating, and old mate (70+ yo Tongan with very bad arthritis) is holding on top the edge of the boat.  They were pretty dismissive of our help and taking the situation lightly, so we left them to their plan to head to the drum to get him out of the water.

After 5 minutes of watching captain walk around the drum with no sight of old mate, we decide to go help once more.  Old mate couldn't lift himself and captain couldn't get him up.  So long story short i offloaded all my gear to allen in case i flipped my yak and climbed on the shit covered drum (those of you that know the aroma, you know.....) to help.  Old mate is petrified, cold, weak and can't swim. His life jacket isn't done up so it's doing nothing.  Me and cap' couldn't lift him because he weighed 160+kg and he couldn't actually swing a leg onto the drum once we had him out of the water.  Allen the champ has mean while gone half way to Mexico to flag down a boat. End story, old mate ends up in the strangers boat, me and Allen got the tinnie back around the drum from were it was stuck, we bailed 100 odd litres of water out of it (they were impossibly close to sinking), i threw cap his life jacket (which was at the bottom of the boat) and swore at him for taking the stupid, shallow hulled, tippy peice of ##### of a boat out into the middle of botany bay. Worst of all they had a few undersized snapper in the boat.

2 hours we spent, helping dumb and dumber. F. M. L.....

This one is good for me. Would like to know launch location and indication of target species ?

The water and fish, respectively haha.  No im not to familiar with the area but i know yarra bay yacht club is doable as ive been there before. Or at the port/runways. We might need some help haha. Target depends on location, but im always keen to chase the kings etc

  8. Hi all,

Well i think the first one was a success, so let's try to repeat it.  We had 5 raiders last time so we're looking to best that with 6 or more. As promised to Allen, we will try for botany bay (if we can look away from kembla hehe).

Allen will bring nuggets and navionics, Razzel remeber to bring some leashes (sorry) and Lungfai and Rod you guys need to get your leave passes signed haha. Meanwhile i shall prepare to cause tangles ;)

Note: edit changed date to just the 11th, can't make the Sunday myself

    Cheers guys
