  1. Ripper read fellas!!!! Felt like i experienced the whole 3 hours with you. Very much enjoyed that post. Congrats on the first marlin and what a ripper it is. Very much a shame that it didnt make it for a safe release but as previously mentioned you did everything you could sp not your fault and hey..you got a good feed out of it. Glad you went to a secluded beach to fillet it and had the respect to drive far out again to release the remains. Fisheries do you hard for filleting any fish on the water. Once again thanks for the post and congrats Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  2. Hey mate just checked both lure and bait records and none have been submitted so although you may not have a measure still submit it for admin to consider. Good luck mate!!! Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  3. Haha thanks steve!!! I was thinking the same thing about how light the skin was. Maybe due to age cause its a pretty large specimem for the size range. No dramas mate.. as for my above comment if you gt a measure on him maybe a possible raider record. I havent checked current record (if any). Was it caught on lure or bait? 16. Still look into it jim. I work for nrma so i personally know that if you make a claim under both boat anr car insurance for the same listed event and their both insured with nrma they waive the lowest excess (generally being boat) and even if yiu have paid they will reimburse providing proof of payment. Cheers Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  17. Yerp. I done this on my ski one day. Wasnt a good result. Thankfully no damage but still not good either way haha. Another great one is in my old ski boat that was set up for bridge to bridge racing we were having a ski day mum thiught she would be 'cool' and take all the ladies out for a spin....idles out 1mto take off and forgets to drop the trim. Thing stood on its tale for a good 100m hahaha Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  18. Ouch!!!! Its not a day boating unless something happens. Kudos for admitting it and owning it. And 100 points for then going fishing still....were you rewarded?? Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  19. Hi mate. I have a few beach rods but only one suitable and strictly for lures is a 9ft daiwa tdt rod which is 6-10kg and matched with a daiwa aird 4000. Really great combo for throwing from the beach or the stones. Cheers Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  20. Hey mate. Get hold of "scratchie" on here. He is port Stephens guru. Lives and breaths it. Good luck and welcome! Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk

    Found Rod

Well done champion!!! Hope you find the owner and they have the decency to show their apprectiation in the correct way. Cheers Cam Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  22. I couldnt agree more here. I cant comment on insurance companies as i work for nrma so would be a bit biast. However i agree that they are mostly all detterents cause if they want your boat. ..they will get it. You have to remember the thieves these days are professionals. It is their industry just like you are a professional in your industry. The 2 detterents i use for ny jet ski is a chain through the mag and around the axel but also use a trailer lock. Just a u shaped lock that goes over the end of the trailer and locks with a heavy duty short arm padlock. Cheers Cam Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  23. Hey mate. I second what everyone else is saying about scrappibg the sinker. In regards to reel keep spinning could be 1 of 2 things. 1 could be what allen has mentioned that the drag is too loose or 2 if you are using braid most entry level reels you need to use a backing otherwise the whole spool of braid just keeps spinning. Cheers camo Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  24. Haha that sums it up fellas!!! Not bad at all. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
