  1. With the live reports section - most people will be filling it out on their mobiles so i was wondering if it could be done as a rigid form with drop down menus like you see when you're online for fishing rods etc. That means that it is easiest when theres a lot of glare during the day instead of typing? Also maybe have a few different sections, one for sydney offshore, inshore, north coast and south coast maybe? That would make it simplest and easiest to use. cheers guys
  2. Yeah some local knowledge would be great! Is it north enough to get the Queensland pelagics like spaniards Mack tuna etc coming through?
  3. Hey guys I'm planning a camping trip to seal rocks in January... Any idea how it fishes/if there are any accessible and safe rock ledges around there? Cheers guys
  4. Hmmm west of the harbour bridge.... Gotta watch out for the toxins especially in fish like bream which are a bit more solitary than others
  5. "Started a little slow with a 50cm and a 72cm Jew and a nice 65cm flathead. "
  6. What about wind and tide direction, is it more beneficial to have the wind blowing with or against the tide?
  7. Think about it... Next time you catch her she'll be bigger....
  8. Mate I've seen a few big bream around snail bay.. They weren't keen to bite though.
  9. Hey guys, Im heading to the south coast around Bawley Point next week, about 15 km south of Ulladulla. Does anyone know how the salmon fishing has been around there/heard reports? I'll be fishing with fly and probably a surf rod. Cheers, Nick
  10. How does the trev go on a 6wt? Are you over/undergunned?
  11. hey mate, were you land based? How far out from the boat ramp, and were they on the surface? what lures?
  12. Hey guys, I was just wondering if there were any salmon around in sydney harbour? I'm land based.. Any hotspots I should try out? Cheers Nick
  13. For the smell pour a generous amount of dettol antiseptic on your hands and then wash as you would with soap! You smell like a public toilet for 10-15 mins but that's ok!
  14. Mooney mooney is on the hawkesbury sydneyfisher!
  15. 24kg is a very heavy rod- nitro calls their 24 kg rod the "tuna winch". There's no need for so much power, except if sharks are an issue. This tackle is probably difficult to cast with too- important for land based. Something lighter 4-8 or 6-10 kg is probably better, and length around 7-10 foot (depending on portability needs, casting distance needed etc) would be best for casting distance, and gives you flexibility to use lures such as metals too using a heavy leader will stop break offs
  16. Hey guys, I think the new king season starts about november and salmon in numbers come in a month or two, when do the other top water species come in (bonito, tunas, frigates etc) come in?

    So true.

    Kids these days....
  18. Gotta agree with jameshanna- The circles are supposed to stay in the mouth a little before the fish is hooked- as far as I know they're designed for bait? A fish would grab the lure in the middle miss the point and swim off. A standard j hook as opposed to circle facing down may be a fairer test!
  19. Brought up in the social was single vs treble hooks- on small hardbodies it's apparently trebles for sure- what about for larger hardbodies ~10 cm and metals? Cheers Nick
  20. This both helps and doesnt! It confirms that its up to luck if they're there, but absolutely doesn't cause I have no idea of knowing where theyll be! Finding the baitfish seems as easy as finding them too Cheers, Nick
  21. Johnk did I see you at balmoral jetty at about 6am on Wednesday?
  22. What time did the frigates turn up? They left balmoral at about ~7 so maybe moved on to chinamans? Is there any way to pin them down, so that you have a solid chance of coming upon a school while land based?
  23. Any land based hot spots?
  24. Cheers mate I'd love to get stuck into more before school holidays are over!
