  10. I have caught some of my personal best letheries by bringing them up chasing the bait and netting them....although it is funny its more fun just letting them take the bait and brining them in which is just as easy
  11. I have found that its hard to get them at the moment from the baths as they are feeding further out and are being abit hesitant to coming over towards the channel at the moment.... I went out last night for a quick session and got one really nice 40 to 50cm tailor under dark on lure...was good fun, thas was at my relos near lilli pilli
  12. The 1500 to 2500 size reel will be for a tournament bream rod The 4000 will be for the pelagics, etc Thank you for the abit of info mate!
  13. I am just looking at some online sites to work out rough prices for reels and i just wanted to ask a few questions. - Whats the difference between say a stella sta 2500 FA and an FB?? only thing i can see is $100 cheaper for FA, but why? - I dont know whether or not if i get a daiwa reel to go for what they call a tournament reel or not...whats the dif? all seem roughly same prices.....? luvits, calida kix, sol.... There is to many reels from the same companys with roughly same price. let alone checking other companys.....everyone seems to say shimano or daiwa and i like both, just dont want to spend an arm and a leg for the reels if roughly same thing. But do want top quality, looking to spend around 600 or so for 2 reels
  14. Taken From Nine MSN today http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=227580
  15. I went down to this spot at Grays point last night had used some burkley soft platics and caught 2 smaller sized flathead.....down river i saw some decent size fish jumping, most likely tailor
  16. Yeh mate Hows things? I sent you a pm Cheers, Brad
  17. Ok Had a Quick look online at some reels and prices Im thinking the following eventually Daiawa Sol Daiawa luvias Shimano twinpower shimano sustain There mayb be a better daiawa around same price range...i am not sure.
  18. Dave thanks for the info I shall have alook into those ones today. I dont think i will purchase 2 reels in one hit so i will decied which rod needs the new reel first and get that and then wait a few weeks (proably next day) to get the next one.
  19. My Relos place is in the bottom left sort of area on that map....i see people fishing the sand bar there alot and its a good area to fish actually...as previously said nice deep bay! that comes up to shallows. Yhe the baths with the little warf is a good spot...and the right hand side off the ledge
  20. It was actually very clear!! Went down the far right after abit and stood up on the rock and could see a decent amount of bottom on the other side of the river. And in close proably the usual clarity for the time of the arvo and where the sun was. It was great getting one on...abit disapointed i lost the other one but he smashed the sp as soon as it hit the surface and he made a nice splash and came out of the water.
  21. Headed down after work and throw a small minnow in pumpkin seed in and on around 4th or 5th cast caught a nice small flatty..2 casts later had a bigger one on, very close as sp hit the water but he did abit of a flap out of water and popped the hook out. Then just decied to try a lure and didnt get much....saw some decent size fish jump down the very western end though near the bend to Audley. First flatty on sp so i am happy
  22. If you are going to go anywhere mate go to Lilli Pilli Baths It can get crowded but if you are there early or on a week day its very peaceful and sometimes you will find 1 or 2 other fishos to chat to. Best times I have found is the run out tide
  23. Thinking about heading down the Grays Point this evening after work to flick out some berkley gulps that i purchased the other day. I have some little shrimp like ones and some small minnows or something (in pumpkin seed) I think the rain should have stured up the water down there and it may mean some bigger flatties or something may be lurking. Where would you go in Grays Point..im thinking the stretch of beach right of the bot ramp if looking at the water....maybe if low tide and not much chance of rain i will head out for a walk across sand flats to the point.
  24. Yeh i will let you know mate. Hopefully I will be able to get out with some of you blokes and learn alot more and hopefully there is a social down southern sydney again soon. What would be a good one for the hacking? Proably another flatty social or something like that.
