Mick your not wrong ther mate at first my mate called me over he thought it was a small shark then it got closer and bigger and we got the hell out of there as we were peddlig off i felt something nudge the back of my yak not sure what it was but i wasnt gunna stop and have a look Craig that will do the trick i use 20pnd braid when fishing for kingys ,tuna and 8pnd for snapper and bream cheers mik

I got to the ramp just after 530 scott was the first one to turn up then theo and jen soon after. me and scott went straight over to were the kingys have been and didnt get any . james made his way out and we all went to the front of bassy to chase the tuna that eveyone has been talking about i stayed close to the back of the bommie and scott an james headed out wide i was on straight away on my light gear it took about 20 miniutes to get this fish in what a blast i was yelling out to the guys to come over but they couldnt hear me I then started throwing a little metal slug around on my heavier gear and caught a few more by this time the boys were over and we were all getting into them i peddled past theo and he was getting towed out to sea by one on his light gear Scott then yells out to me SHARK he reckons it was about 8 foot i s##t myself because i kept a couple of fish and just put the near my feet next to the mirage drive (and yes they were bleeding ) we soon got out of there and i quickly put the fish in the front hatch heart still racing we peddled in and i got a few more on the troll it was a cracker of a day kept 3 lost 3 released 4 cheers mik
  3. sold the sports a while ago and got the revolution mate i have the tackle box that goes in the hatch between your legs and i also carry one of those sp bags with 10 pockets to carry my sps see on the side were there is the mesh pockets i put the gulp packets in there easy to get and they dont come out

We were out botany bay heads at 630 conditions were perfact steamed down to stanwell park for some bottom bashing and hopefully some reddies tried a few differant spots all we could manage was flathead (them bloody leather jackets were at it again ) made a way back up to the bay and caught a few more fladdies and a couple of nannygai off kurnell not one reddie but a very pleasant day on the water Could any one steer me in the right diretion for some good snapper grounds off botany bay as i have done most of my fishing around shellharbour area (were im from ) now that my dad and me have a boat moored in botany bay thats were i will be doing all my fishing from any info will be greatly appreciated cheers mik

  9. you have got some nice snapper there mate i have been getting heaps of kingys out basspoint in my kayak lately but no reddies i migt have to try around the front of bassy and see if i can get a couple of owlers like that cheers mik

    Furuno 4100

    GDAY RAIDERS Im thinking of buying a furuno Ls 4100 Just want to no if any one has got one of these sounders and what they think of them i want something to read the bottom in about 200m. the last sounder i had always seemed to go nuts when water depth was more than 100mtrs . will this do the job or is there a better one i can get my budget is about 600 dollars thanks mik
  11. I have got the same rod and they do the trick just nice have caught over 40 kingys to 70cm out of the kayak on it cheers mik

  13. headed out for a late arvo session left shellharbour ramp anchored at my normal spot just inside one tree of windang beach at about 3pm started the burly and with in 30 mins first reddie is on board kept my self busy for the next 3 hours fishing with 3 rods catching the normal ooglies sargent bakers slimeys and yakkas end a few undersize reddies ended up keeping 4 reddies and a nice leather jacket it was a pleasant afternoon on the water cheers mik
  14. the only time i use the paddle is to measure the fish i have one of them stickers on one half and to push away from mangroves or rocks if i get to close mik
  15. got the same as you roberto hobie sports fisherman they are 1 awsome fishing machine easy to handle and they can go any where as you have said evan off shore i cant wait for summer and live bait for some kingys cheers mik

  17. drifting off shellharbour with a few rods out noticed 1 had a bit of a bend in so i started to wind it in felt like i was dragging an old boot up caught a flathead that was 1.2 mtrs long the greedy bugger ate a flathead that was 33cm long mik

  20. mate i have the same motor 90 merc 2004 on a blue water stessl we head out to the shelf at 6am troll all day head back in about 4pm and use no more then 100 litres of fuel a bit less if we catch a few fish not to sure on the kms mik

  22. yeah its deffinatly harder to get a deckie in winter my mates are the same but as soon as the weather warms up there aint enough spots bad luck on the fish or lack of but its just nice being out there beets workin thats for surecheers mik

  24. headed out to one tree off windang on saturday arvo for some snapper berlyed hard for 2 hours and not evan a nibble so it was off to a place where a mate has been getting an few ) just out from the ramp at shellharbour . we started our berly trail again and with in 5 min im on to a nice fish got it boat side and it was a nice groper took a quick pic and let it go fished to dark with only a few runs and 1 shark not 1 reddie still a pleasent arvo out always next time cheers mik
