the best way to catch yellowtail is just little or no weight, a swivel is enough, try next time with abit of squid or pilchard

Hi raiders We went out at 7 am to botany Wind was great, swell was bad Try for squid and got abot ten small one , send couple down for live bait but no taker Caught an 8 kg cuttle fish which made my mum very happy as we cal make cnice cake out if him Continue around the bay but no fish, got a few more squid. There was heap of gar which i tried very to cat b them but only end up two for next session Got bact to ramp at 4 pm Very happy even no fish No photo of squid Xsite

If you are on your own then it will take longer than if there are more to help I dont think i can retrieve on my own so good on you Being impatient is one thing , being an ass and think they are better than everyone else and have no respect to others or common sense is another thing Thats frustrated me some times Cheers

Hi Raider, What a busy day at the bay, no parking from 8 am at fore shore ramp, end up launching boat at cooks river ramp and walk 10 min for parking, Pretty slow day, plenty boat in the bay, we end up with a nice feed of calamari only, cant find any yellowtail at all. saw a lot of dolphin at Kurnell. Went back to ramp after lunch and waited for 20 min to retrieve boat, Very frustrating when two well built bloke drive straight to ramp, reverse trailer down and start to unpack which took 10 minute, then stay still to talk on phone for another five in the ramp and hold other up. I don't understand some people is so inconsiderate of other ( note that they had children with them so good luck to their child growing up to be nice people), No one confront these two so I kelp my mouth shut too

Wira cod is very good eating if prepare right Meat is tough but sweet so bbq or deep fry is a no no We cut them in cube and long stir fry or better on a steamboat chinese style Cheers

I was alot futher out I have tried around the oil whaft before but no luck , by the look of your catch, i. Will try again All my regular squid spot was no good but plenty of rat king,

We head off again today trying for more squid, 2 hour and nil. We start at Kurnell and end up in Capebank then decide to try for yellow tail for bait but could not find any, using hand line and hook up with rat king several times then we cough two small calamari. Head back to Kernell and live baiting with calamari, landed a 72cam king on 16lb outfit the lost a bigger one on 30lb , could not stop him from going in to the rock. We caught another squid so cut up for bait, landed several 50-60cm which had to go back. End of session, one king, one massive gurnard but no squidd for dinner which we prefer more than king, thankfully, my mother-in-law loves king so my wife is also happy, easier to go next time. We were squiding at kurnell with a baited rod and in the rod holder and a king took the bait and snap the rod butt Lucky my brother caught it and income the king at 60cm so it had to go back I saw several king below boat but only small Now i have to repair a $200 rod somehow Kings also chased squis away too Alot of rat king in botany bay

I normally get seasick in moderate condition but was fine I think my mind was occupied in fishing and did not get seasick We are on a fibreglass 5,.3 meter Cheers

Went again to botany bay from 1 pm to 8 pm Only aiming for calamari and had ourbest day of the year with 18 calamari mostly good size and 2 cuttle fish We fished at near golf coure then along kurnell Caught on white jig and yellow tail on spike Havinga sore hand from throwing jig and mayby sore tooth from from eating our catch but atill very happy
