  3. thats some great snapper mate, nice job. that stonker must have hit hard!
  4. its quite shallow for a long way out at this spot, if u dont wade you are casting into 2 feet of water. i usually go half way of run out tide and follow the sand bars. was about 30 meters out that time. watch out for stingrays !! REEFBOOTS!!
  5. It was double hook ups and screaming reels for breakfast this morning. hit the rocks just before 6am with my work buddy today and 5 mins after the first bait hit the water the session began. whole pillies on 2 hook snelled rigs did the damage. 30lb braid and leader were used. the first few salmon were smallish and they just got bigger. baits were getting hit before the sinker could hit the bottom. after a few good fish we hooked into some solid models pulling really hard with solid runs. my mate was fairly new to rock fishing and was busted off multiple times. i landed 6 salmon in the first hour and lost 1 in the rocks, as the swell picked up. they went off the bite just aftr 7 and we called it off before 8. a great morning. love those red hot salmon sessions before work!!!
  6. hi raiders, had a spare hour today so went for a quick flick at rose bay sand flats. fishing 1/8 ounce berkely 3d vibes on 6lb with a 2 kg stick. waded out as far as possible and casting at the weed beds. picked up 3 legal lizards in an hour, released to fight another day. loving these vibes at the moment, they really cast further than plastics of the same weight when the wind is up a bit. the flatties seem to love them too!
  7. hey witha, yeah i wear full length skins top and bottom, boardies over top and a long sleeved fishing shirt( berkely, tackleworld etc) . waterproof jacket for the early morning, and a thick beanie. more about clothes that dont hold water and keep the wind off.
  8. nice squid there mate, do love a good feed of fresh calamari
  9. yeah sharknett was a good session, always looking for someone to join in for a yak session, especially when going outside!!
  10. Hi raiders, went for a yak session last week before work. launched at the mariner near spit bridge around 7am . headed out to the moorings off clontarf beach and picked up a few bream on plastics. saw some bust ups near the end of the point and threw poppers with no takers. did the usual drift over the flats towards the lighthouse west end of washaway beach and picked up a good flattie on a small stick bait. picked up a small trevally on lightly weighted squid hanging out the back. started throwing hardbodies at the rocks around the lighthouse and landed a fat tailor on my new duplex lure. pulled out a few small salmon then got hit by a stomper while throwing small plastics on 6lb. had a few good runs in him then over the side fir a quick photo. tried a drift along washaway beach for nothing then headed for home with a few last casts at the rocks for another small salmon. back at the mariner around 12. All fish were released
