  1. I spent a weekend ages ago at Gwandalan and they were everywhere, so much so we had to wear shoes when walking in the water,

I also see the broken shells at Jimmy's beach in Port Stephens, but never live ones touch wood.

The internet said they are good eating and a great bait

  2. I have parked at both places and haven’t had a drama, even when leaving it for two nights in a row. When on a boys weekend away.

i did park the trailer hard up against the wall or rail and have a wheel clamp on the trailer and the tow ball lock as well.

plus I make sure I have insurance cover.

doesn't mean nothing will happen, I may just have been lucky.

  3. You can use a $10 test light as well to check where the power stops, check it at the switch, bus bar and along the wiring and at the radio connection.

That will tell you if it’s the radio.

  4. What engine do you have Fab?

if it’s a ETec I have been told to change the whole water pump (Housing and Impeller) if it is a few years old.

  5. I take my key out as I have the trailer Hitch lock and Wheel lock key on it as well, I also have a spare key at home but I guess not much good if I lose it while away.

I do have a yellow float on both my keys, with kids you just cannot be sure one of them wont drop it over the side.

d have a look at the plate on my trailer. It’s tare weight is 210kg.

It should not need a inspection as it’s under 256kg

  7. My fishy story was I entered a triple M comp about your best dad moment and mine was fishing with the kids and getting my daughter her first fish by catching it and while she wasn't looking I hooked it onto her line and let her reel it in and I won a new 2016 Camry SX.

sold it and bought my current boat.

When does the annual safety check kick in? My trailer has brakes and it has been registered for 5 1/2 years now. Each rego renewal notice so far has said “no inspection required”.

From my reading its if the trailer weighs less than 256kg on its own it does not require a annual inspection , which is also the trigger for adding brakes from 257kg up.

it has the mechanical brakes - I took off the walkway and the spare tyre bracket to lower the weight so that would not affect the insurance whats so ever -

OK i read it wrong thought you removed the brakes, my bad.

Did you have to go to a weigh bridge with a empty trailer and then a blueslip to change the trailer at the RMS?

I did think all trailers fitted with brakes had to have the annual inspection in NSW

I have the next size up trailer which weighs 320kg, not much i can remove as to get it down to the 254kg limit for no annual inspection.

Been a single axel trailer you can take a few parts off and have it re weighed (normaly 280kls) which in curs a $100 weight tax and inspection every year for you rego, get it down to under 256kls and no inspection and $67 a year instead of $203

    Hi

I have the 2016 Stacer Bowrider, I love the smooth sides for looks.

Just beware that if you have a accident and they weight the boat & trailer combo, it still has to be under the Kg limit otherwise your insurance is void as it should have had brakes fitted.

The rego inspection only takes 15mins and cost $28, its a great prompt for checking bearings, brakes and lights annually.

    P.s

what size and type of prop are you running on the Etec?

we were in a white Stacer bow rider and because it was so flat we were flying on the way out and the way back.

next time I should stop and steal your fish as at least then I could show the wife what fresh fish look like. Ha ha ha

  12. Wanted to get the boat out for a run before it has its 3yr major service and since its been a few weeks between boating / Fishing.

Had the boat packed to go on Saturday night but the wind picked up , so looking at Willy weather Sunday was going to be better so pulled the pin Saturday night and went Sunday morning instead.

Woke at 5.30am and while having breakfast my youngest (7yr) came walking out to the kitchen dress like he was going to the snow, he said if I'm going fishing he is coming to but he will be warm.

Then a few minutes later my oldest came out and she was ready to go, so instead of a solo trip I have 2 out 3 little adventures coming along.

I hit the water at 6.45am and it was so calm and quiet, My daughter took the wheel from Rhodes to the 15knt zone under the harbour bridge and there was not one boat or ferry around, So little traffic meant that the washing machine under the bridge was almost like glass. It was great for her to get some time under her belt as she builds confidence, So much easier now she has her License, just needs time behind the wheel and soon launching will be a breeze as she will be able to dive off and putt around while I park the trailer.

Since the kids came along I threw in the portable stove and fry pan, along with eggs bacon and some avocado, once we were fishing, on goes the pan within a minuted, everyone is having breakfast on the water with  the Harbour bridge and city in the background.

Needless to say with the little one no much fishing happens but he did manage to catch a Pinkie and lost a bream, so he was happy and we packed up and went for a drive around.

The kids have started watching Young Bloods on YouTube, so adventuring and snorkeling will be the thing for us to do this summer.

Back to the ramp at full throttle around 11am just with a coupe of boats and a few ferries.

Was planning on testing in our on Parramatta river at Silverwater

Go across to Rydalmere or Rhodes, less chance of having the river cat come past and smash you with waves while trying to test the boat and motor out.

they both have better pontoons as well especially Rydalmere

I check my 2016 Evinrude with the Diagnostic Tool Kit With Chip CP2102 For Evinrude E-Tec (Obtained from Ebay for around $100) it is a good piece of mind to check if everything is ok. So far I have not seen a problem except for an overspeed error which was easy to a just, If I see problem I would take it to a mechanic so far touch wood. The program is good because it shows the default settings and your engine.

Do you have a link to the kit as I have the 2016 Etec 115hp and would like to see this stuff.
