  3. That does not sound comfortable Scratchie. FYI I did ok at Diamond Beach last month. Caught my PB snapper off the rocks. And lots of good bream of the beach. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  4. Atually12ft rod with Stradic FJ5000. Maybe more take than give 10m from 140. I noticed that you always give advice on casting and know details about records. Do you surf cast comps? Always wanted to do that but never became involved. Cheers Stu Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for the feedback man. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah that is what I was thinking don't think that there is much I can do with it except a little varnish. Awesome rod though so much feel and so easy to cast. Throws 25 gram lures about 140Metres By the way do you still talk to your brother? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  7. Hi Guys after reading an article on here the other day about Graphite rods and how prone they are to breaking I have a question. On a recent trip I clumsily tripped over on the rocks and scratched my Diawa sensor surf 7-15 kg just below the first runner from the reel. Having already broken another Graphite rod while lifting a fish out of the water (stupid move). I was curious as to the likelihood of this rod surviving a bit of pressure. I have already hag a couple of decent fights with it since and it appears to have plenty of grunt. If I coat this with varnish is it likely to be okay. It took me long enough to make the decision to spend the money to buy this rod and then only on special. Any feedback would be great. Cheers Stu Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah it is great fun. As mentioned seeing that glow stick take off is very exciting. You can see when the squid are around too. They pull the float under a bit Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  9. Good on you. Will continue to dream. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks mate. I am having the opposite luck lately. They keep hitting the small setup 6kg and while it is some fun they eventually bust me off. With the time I get to go fishing happy to have some fun and get busted off than nothing at all. Tight lines Stu Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

  17. Hi Raisers thanks for the feedback. Krispy do you put the single hook through the top of the hood? Do you use any weight or just the squid to get it where you want and let it float. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  18. Great thanks for the reply. Basically what I was thinking. Do the squid stay alive very well? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  19. Hi guys while catching squid is a different story if I do catch them how do I then rig them up live for kings. I normally use dead squid and snell up a couple of 5/0 hooks either under a float of drift in the wash.
  20. Good report mate. Nice size flattie there. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

  23. Some great info guys especially Squid. I follow the same principles. I use the steel often just a couple of laps to clean them up. Every couple of months they get the stone. I bought a good set of butchers knives that I have had since 18 so nearly 30 years and they are still great. Added a couple of decent cook's knives and a good steel to make the set For fishing I have a decent filtering knife other than that I buy $20 specials for cutting bait rock sand and everything else they do. They get a sharpen every couple of outings and a good rinse every outing to keep the red stain away. I normally keep them wrapped in an oil rag as they are cheaper steel. As Squid said going to friends places and holiday parks will drive you nuts to use blunt knives. I have even trained my wife to pack the good knives when we go away just in case. I always check that they are packed when we leave. Good luck. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  24. Nice feed of flatties there. Love flathead to eat. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
