  1. Yeah nice write up. I really like Bonito as sashimi. Only thing I would change is the cold fresh water, I only wash my fish in salt water retains the flavour better. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  2. Awesome session fella. That feels good doesn't it. That is a great area for Beach fishing down there. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  3. Hey mate I have had a few pairs of spike boots and they are really comfortable. I normally wear a pair of explorer socks in them. The spikes do wear really quickly so have bought some Life & Sports chain spikes. They go over the boots and are awesome. I where my boots to where I want to go and then put on the spikes for fishing. Plenty of grip and really secure. Cheers Stu Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  4. You're ok mate we all have our passions. I have learnt a lot about fishing since joining this forum. These sort of discussions bring out some good banter. Right lines man Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  5. Try telling that to Krispy he smashes the kings on 10lb in the Harbour. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  6. Mrs Swordie R&B here how do I actually enter for COTM. I took some photos with all the bits in them and entered the report under general reports. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah well done on the bream. I did the same last weekend. At least caught a feed and it was delicious. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks Scratchie. I checked the requirements before posting. Did not think I would get many chances to have a go at it. Tight lines Stu Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks Rex. Your average is about right normally I get a few good size ones in this area my mate always gets the big ones. He was not there this time so I took his spot. He is not getting out back after this.Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  10. Cheers mate it was pretty wild out there on this day. This was caught just after low tide after that it was getting too hairy to fish.Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks Ryder hooked him up in the wash about 3m from the rocks in front of me. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  12. Great catch Jacob. I have heard they are getting some monsters in there at the moment. Good on you spending time with your granddad. I am sure he loved watching you catch that Lizard. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  13. Hi guys headed out Saturday arvo for a spin off the rocks. was not confident after all the rain but had to go fishing. Took along the bream gear just in case I had no luck spinning. To cut along story short after two hours of throwing spinners with no hits and no follows decided the spinning was not good!!!!!! Changed across to chase some bream and there were lots of small nibblers around but this fella decided he liked my pillie tail. At 46 cm this is my PB bream so was stoked. Still nothing of the rocks yet. Been out a couple times for zippo. Very late this year. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  15. That's a stonker whiting there howie. Bet that will-did taste good. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  16. Hey fella I use the Berkeley big game on all my reels now that I use for fishing around the rocks handles it pretty good. I don't use Alveys though. Has good knot strength and abrasion resistance as well and appears to have less stretch. If you do a search you can get some good prices on it. I mainly buy the 6, 8 & 10 kg lines. I used to use the Trilene but was not impressed, struggled with knots breaking even with plenty of spit. Agree with Rex always wash the gear down. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  17. Sounds like it was good fun that you had. I don't mind fishing the rain caught some nice beam in the rain. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  18. Great work Cait. I caught my first legal scalper earlier this year i was so stoked. I have a t-shirt it says Fishing keeps me sane. It sure does, my wife still does not get what I get out of fishing. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  19. Great fishing Gianni well done to you and Seamus. Nice healthy looking fish there. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah agree Rex. Would never use just the sand spike of the rod. Have even had rods dragged over and into the water while using the tubes. Luckily have not lost any rods yet but been close. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  21. I am the same I use 50mm tubes as well to dig into the sand. Trouble is the prevail end piece is huge and does not fit into the tube. May have to a convert to sand spike.Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  22. Hey scratchie he didn't have your 20lb line hanging out of his gob did he:) Well done guys that is an awesome fish. Great way to break in the new boat Dom. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  23. Hi pirate I agree with the other guys may be a bad batch. Also check your gear. Unless fishing at night I only use 6kg mono main line (250m) with a 30lb bottom rig. If fishing braid then 10lb with 3m of 15 or 20lb Flouro. At night I have a big rod out with 15kg mono or braid with a 40lb Flouro leader and 40 or 50lb rig. Still use the smaller outfits though for the smaller fish. Keeps the table full will still having fun. Have caught monster tailor salmon and small sharks on this setup. Only time I get into trouble is when the tailor bite past the hook on single hooks not a problem on ganged hooks. Havn't meet a Tailor than can bite through a ganged 3/0 hook yet . Cheers Stu Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  24. Looks like a great feed there Yowie Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  25. Hey mate if you are using big baits try the Penn Prevail 12-20kg only thing is it does not have a sand spike. Sensor surf is also good and can be a good all round rod for off the rocks as well. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
