  1. Never caught a snook before. Look similar to a stinky pike. Are they good for bait as well? Cool video too. Keep up the good work.
  2. So if i'm fishing on a rock ledge in middle harbour where there are no waves, Does that mean a lifejacket is required? if they pass this law for all areas and not just the randwick area.
  3. Any bonito around the gong yet? You could try the break walls at Port Kembla. Just make sure there open to the public. There sometimes closed. Pretty safe spot as long as your sensible.
  4. It's a known crowded rock ledge in the central coast judging by the background.
  5. Was there on Sunday morning not much biting.
  6. Double uni knot for when there is a hot bite and no time to tie knots. For the lazy folk. I know the double uni is no good going through your guides. Just don't bring your knot through the guides. Uni knot to attach lure.
  7. Pillie under a float, probably 10ft - 13ft rod would go ok. Could double up as a coco rig as well.
  8. Any rock ledge off a beach will get you to some water, to throw your lures/poppers. make sure to have all the safety gear to fish off the rocks. Rock boots and life jacket. Here is a link
  9. Stayed on Manu island before. Tried the big ferry wharf but was told by a security guard no fishing on the ferry wharf. Best bet would be to walk to the rock ledge at the end of the beach if your going landbase. its a big platform. I didn't fish there but the water does look fishy. Poppers and stickbait i think would do the trick.
  10. Now would be the time to target them off the ocean rocks. Especially after a big swell or a big storm. I guess in the harbour you would need to fish south head or Bluefish point.
  11. 3-4 metre swell tomorrow. Might get hairy on the breakwall too.
  12. Bleed ya salmon straight away and fillet it. Remove blood line and red meat. Eat that night, it aint too bad on the tooth. Just don't over cook it or it will turn out dry.
  13. It's a pretty big ledge there but very slippery like any other ledge Avoca. What's the forecast for the morning?
  14. You have to read a post which was put up on the 15.4.16 in the fishing chat section. Haven't been able to get there myself yet.
  15. Be very carefully as Hill 60 is one of the most dangerous rock ledges in NSW. Many have lost their lives there. Make sure you have the right footwear, rock boots or rock cleats. As for the fishing Salmon, bonito, kingfish can be caught there. It would be a very busy ledge on weekends.
  16. Should be able to get livies at balmoral wharf or in front of the island at balmoral beach. Might even get livies right up against the baths at clontarf.
  17. +1 for the Decoy plugging singles or I've seen owner do a plugging single hook too. I tend to change my trebles to singles when i know its a snaggy bottom or if i want to release fish that i'm not taking home. 20 - 40 grams lures i go with 1/0 - 2/0, 3/0, 40-80grams 3/0 and above.
  18. Ive heard of big kings being caught at OMH. Sent from my SM-T705Y using Tapatalk
  19. Never fish the Mid North Coast so don't really know any spots. What bait you collecting down OMH? Feel free to msg me if you don't want to post here.
  20. How's the ledge fishing at the moment? Any action to report or has it slowed down.
  21. Hopefully there still around. Hoping the warm water stays around a little longer. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  22. Was this recent?. Better pack the gear and get some new lures. Probably need some new rock boots too
  23. I use to fish on the northern beaches but haven't been over there that much this summer. Good to see you are catching a few fish. North Whale Beach, North curl curl and old man's hat were my go to spots.
  24. Hi all, hope everyone has been catching fish. It's been a while since i have hit the rocks. Any one know how Avoca beach rocks platform has been fishing lately? It's been a while i have been up there. Usually have success there with catching Salmon.
