  1. I find that applies to well... pretty much every kind of fishing! I've been on the lookout for info over the last few days to see if its worth heading out. People are catching bream in parra river (the state of that river though, the rain probably improved the water quality) and someone picked up a meter jewfish off a beach in botany last night too. I'll most likely head outside and fish the colour change in the water.
  2. Yep! From what I can find grey and blue are the same. Jackass is different. Biggest give always I can spot are the dark band across the head and the fins on the side - blue/grey are split and have longer lower sections than the jackass morwong.
  3. I was giving fishflicks a punishing until my internet went down. Then I moved on to rigging up some overhead gear and perfecting a few knots.

    Hawkesbury accident

First thing everyone told me when I got a boat was "don't leave the little one in the car when you launch the boat". Can't think of many worse things to happen, feel sorry for everyone involved.
  5. I've got the exact same plan for yellowfin this year. Going to head out and give them a go. I've been looking at the tyrnos reels which are the step up from the TLD. From what I've read you're looking for about 19.5c. My plan of attack so far was going to be run out to Browns, stop pas 12 mile for a quick jig. Drag some plastic through the ocean until 1pm ish and then start cubing hoping for a sunset bite. planning for LONG days, early starts and late nights, hours of doing nothing, thousands in gear and fuel all for a couple of hours of mayhem
  6. The new lowrance ti range is hard to beat. I think the 5 series Ti is about 850ish? Sidescan, downscan, inside-out scan the whole lot. I walk past them and drool whenever I go to a boat store
  7. Would think dolphins are smarter than to go up to the waste facility that is chipping Norton lakes :/
  8. Swell looks horrific. I'll be staying inside this weekend, fishing Sunday and might have a look around the heads but not going to go wide in that swell
  9. Who knows with graphite rods. I've got 3 or 4 dropshots now, first 2 I owned broke really easily - these 4 get a beating and show no signs of giving up
  10. I've got a black gomoku and a blue gomoku, I'm by no means gentle with my rods and I haven't ran into any issues yet
  11. Man I still haven't watched season 5!
  12. No, it's long. 12 mile reef isn't 12 miles long..
  13. I'll give you a hint. Its called 12 MILE reef.
  14. Didn't know we got these in Australia!
  15. There was a seal near foreshore ramp today that had balled up a heap of mullet.
  16. Hi Guys, I'm looking at getting the parts and plumbing my live well tomorrow, going to mount it through the transom and put an angled poly fitting on the end. I have a quick question re: the RULE pumps. I was originally going to get an angled pump, however its occured to me that this would mean the pump housing itself would not be level and would angle back slightly. The other option is to get the straight pump, but that would mean the pump sits horizontally. So basically, I'm not sure what the best option is as far as mounting it through the transom, unless I go with a johnson pump with the 90° outlet. Cheers, Mark
  17. let mine sit in pineapple for 4 hours, melted in my mouth. The enzymes break it down. Keep in mind it gets more rubbery the more its overcooked too. People eat it raw so don't be afraid to ease up a bit on the cooking time.
  18. What did shire marine say? They did the inspection on it didn't they?
  19. I'll be out that way too - White 5m Haines breeze (i'll be the bloke driving in zig zags)
  20. ^ perfect time for something to fail then. I love it when people say "working fine for years", because thats generally how things break
  21. you can also use autosol - its the grit that restores the shine.
