  6. hey tripper, i bought a few s factor packs when i first saw them around a little bit more than a yr ago. had no success on them except for tailor (which smash every thing_) i gave up. a few different tries here and there but mainly using berkleys and HB's. in saying this today on a yaking expedition i got another pack from ottos 1st thing in the morning. i was NEARLY switched back for awhile but when things got slow the gulps out did the s factors, though s factor caught the biggest ones. i think my s factor collection might soon grow to as big as my gulps one oh no i need more over time
  7. hey roberta, cheers once again (your a yak guru) (apparently starlo reckons too) hehehe ur advice is always taken on board. went out with yes dear this morning till afternoon. just keen to see where other launch etc too. thanks damien
  8. hi guys took my yak (hobie rev) out this morning with Yes Dear on his. lauched at the tip of hunters hill and made our way slowly flicking the banks to fig tree bridge. landed around 6 breambo's and 7 or so flatties. biggest flattie begin round the 50 mark. alot of small ones and biggest breambo round 30cm mark. ill try to post pics but usually dont work. ill PM stewy if he can help cheers damo (yakking is adictive)
  9. hi all, a couple of weeks ago i bought my 1st yak from another raider (cheers jason). (hobie revolution). im located in the Gladesville area and do alot of SP and HB fishing. any spots tips, suggestions anyone would like to offer??? regards, damien
  10. i did it. thank you all for the feed back. i sat down this afternoon and was on a mission to get this knot right. i did double uni knot. 10 turns on braid and 7 on leader. bang SNAP! same prob. i went again this time slowing the process right down when tightening and watching the knots closely (bloody hard on white 4lb and 6lb leader) i did several attempts. i noticed that the braid did actually cut into the leader even though it was lubricated. so i tried more spit on the next try. this did stop the cutting into the leader. next problem i noticed was that i needed to tighten the leader knot pretty much right up before tightening the braid and sliding them together. this also needed alot of lubrication. if i didnt tighten the leader knot pretty much right up the braid knot basically slipped straight through the leader knot on the final tighten (if that makes sense) so my final conclusion and nearly 15 or so knots later this afternoon is that with the 4lb stern braid when attaching 4lb,6lb leader is that the leader needs atleast 5-7 turns and the braid atleast 10 turns. all needs more lubrication than using 6lb braid up and that the leader knot needs to be basically tightened right up before the braid knot. i would still like to hear if my experiences are similar or completely different to others cheers all damien
  11. i was thinking of taking my new yak up there on sun for another test run and try out my newly made rocket lauchers and straps. do you think its a bad idea or go try out my luck??? never fished narra lakes but drove past the other day... looks good for yakking????? any suggestions??? Roberta great interview in sport fishing mag:) good to see the raider and A#$% props too:) cheers damo
  12. cheers guys, will try the more loops go. stewy i used the same leader on other 6lb n 8lb braid no probs. but they are all team daiwa braid. will let u know how it goes. cheers damo
  13. hi all, i bought some 4lb stern braid (white) last weekend and spooled it onto a daiwa 2000 exceler reel. last night i was getting some gear ready for the weekend and tried tying 6lb Jap leader on which i use on my other 6lb braid. i used a double uni knot well lubricated as i always do. each time i finished the knot and gave it its last tightening pull it snapped at the knot???? after 6 tries i gave it up till today when i will try again later. never had this problem with 6lb. first time using 4lb and not putting too much pressure on the knot. anyones experienced this problem or advice??? cheers damien

  18. hey Roberta, i actually gave the yak a bit of a rocking pretty much as soon as i left land to see how much it could take. ithought if i go in the drink it might aswell be now so i learn. to my suprise i was taking in water left and right and was still upright. i felt i could get up and crawl around, possibly stand up (but ill attempt this another day) im thinkin of venturing out closer to the harbour next trip. slowly ill get there. i have that marlin in mind. lol my 3yr old daughter has named my yak DORA which is a kids cartoon for you that dont know. DORA THE EXPLORA. is this a suitable name or is it lame???do u even name kayaks?

    Tv Antennas

hey Andrew, im a sparky and am quailified to install antennas. the only problem is there are companies like (im not sure if im allowed to say, if not pls pm me) Mr Antenna and a few others if you google them that buy in bulk and get it alot cheaper then i would. i actually use them to do my jobs when needed as it works out cheaper for me too. what i would do is go to your local electrical wholesaler and get a roll or box of quad shield coaxe, they use this for pay tv etc. just ask the wholesaler and they should know what im talking about, run all your points from room to room or where ever you want an outlet back to a central location, i usually put it near the man hole which is easy to access. depending on the number of points you put in you might need a amplifier. if only a few a splitter will do. try the hills range they are good. when you get the atenna contractor out the price is usually only to one point which would in this case be at the man hole. they will ususally also connect the rest for you if you offer a cashy job on the spot to the contractor. hope this all makes sense. if not pm me if you like, cheers damien
