hey all, im hitting the Hawkesbury next tuesday day with my dad and his friend. his has a small cat boat so i guess up to juno is good weather permitting. they've left it up to me to pick the spots for the day. can anyone help me out with where i should go, what gear to bring and what bait or lures? i personally use lures and plastics but the older guys will probably stick to baits. Anyone been catching much there? are the leatheries there?????? any help would be appreciated. cheers all.

brickman, i bought one last year. 6/7wieght, 9ft rod, i paid 130 i think from memory. i used it once last year and a few times this year but it got me into the whole fly fishing bug (even though im yet to catch a fish on fly and cant cast for shit) mine is a two piece but i recently bought a four piece 4wieght for trouting and now wish my 9ft one was three or four piece too. good luck its fun

mate i worked at garden island part of my apprenticeship and i used to fish off there every morning before work during smoko, and after work till security used to tell us to stop fishing. nearly every fish i caught there had these come out of their mouths. dont know if this helps as you arent allowed to fish there or near it as its a naval base but there you go. id like to see your reports too. cheers damien -
ive used the vx's in both sizes. love em. lost a few to flatties taking the whole lure in and busting off leaders though. yet to try the tt.
