Hey mate, I'm usually down there every day swell permitting. There's a few rats around and the odd 10-15kg king, still tonnes of salmon everywhere. Daybreak is the time to do it, if you get a salmon use it for burley and strip bait it for the kings. Low tide has also been the goods... If I'm out there when you are I'll give you some pointers mate just come say hey, I'll be in the black "FILA" cap with the big blue saltist rod
  2. I use the "cheaters FG". It takes me maybe 3 minutes to do a really solid one that guaranteed won't slip (for land based kings) but you really REALLY need to make sure you make the thing is tight and compact as you can, if it has any slack in the meat of the knot- when you tie off your half hitches they will slide after 20-30 casts and you will not notice untill you catch a fish and "ping" goes your not. I have a great instructional vid. if anyone wants it lemme know
  3. Pretty much none under the 40cm mark, most are between 60 and 80cm... I know of a few people who have really put an effort into restoring the fishability of these lagoons....a lot of big healthy breeding flathead have been caught on the beach and released in these lagoons....try the surface lures for whiting and you wouod be surprised how angry it makes the big girls.
  4. Some boys down at Avoca have lost a few to bent hooks and spat trebles this last week, early mornings around the low tide seems to be the go Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  5. If anyone lives near a lagoon (like Terrigal, Wamberal or Avoca) nows the time =) They warm up much quicker than the big open waterways and the flattys are a plenty around this time of year. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  6. I've been watching the sea surface temps and it looks like this weekend things are heating up, fingers crossed there's a few about with this swell Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  7. I'll vouch for mazda 3's as long as you keep them full of oil Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  8. I think the original file size is too small, when I do that it becomes very pixilated. I'll give it a shot on the laptop when I'm home thoughCheers Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  9. It's too small to read Savit...for me anyway..Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  10. Gday raiders, I've been itching to get out there lately as summer draws closer and things really kick off in the land based world, so I've set myself some targets. The first of which is to tackle some murray cod on lures. Now this is where you guys come in because I am based in the Central Coast and have no idea how far I need to travel to have a good chance. I know I can get good fish just outside Dubbo which is a 4hr drive for me but can anyone recommend somewhere closer that has good stocks of fish? They don't need to be monsters either I'm just trying to get a look at some species on my bucket list =) Cheers in advance guys hope you all enjoyed the long weekend Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. Save your money if it's a bucks night, my mate has his on the weekend we just hired a couple bbq boats for the day and paid two mates to drive the rest of us drunkards around while whoever wanted to fish fished. Was a great day and worked out around 60 bucks each for food and a bus back to the party house Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  12. More people die from falling coconuts than sharks and I don't see too many coconut trees around Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  13. Plenty of bullies, big mangrove jack, bream, flathead, javelin, a variety of trevally and tonnes of estuary cod and qld grouper. Lots of pesky catfish too. Best bet is live prawns or mullet, cast netting is pretty popular up there to get bait from the banks. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  14. I think your best bet is focusing on trying to catch certain species by using a specific technique. Use the search option and have a look at the reports on flathead fishing with sp's. Ads Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  15. Post some shots of the water level if you get a chance! [emoji5] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah mate if you're around the Central Coast over summer you're welcome to tag along with me or I can give you a few spots to give it a shot yourself. I've been thinking it's about time I tried to get a few raiders together for a group kayaking, bass and carp day so keep an eye out for that if you're interested guys and gals. 17. Hey mate send us a pm I've got a bunch of spots around the Central Coast for bass and e.ps. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  18. Good work mate! Now you can start putting a pattern together and show us lots of big toothy reds! ☺ Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  19. Great stuff, seems like there's plenty about at the moment. Can't wait for it to heat up a bit more and get into some surface action! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  20. Great info there ^ Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  21. Vibelicious in any size (depends what bicatch you do or dont want) Drop it to the bottom, immediately begin a drawn out slow lift (enough to JUST feel vibration) and repeat the process. Just work em' like a blade and you'll be in with a good chance. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  22. Can't get much better than that for opening day! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  23. We use them in the lagoons on a run in tide within the first 2 days of it being let out to sea (Avoca, Wamberal and Terrigal). Usually get a fish a cast as opposed to a fish every second or third cast with a grub. Not much luck elsewhere but when the current runs fast over shallow water they are gun. 24. Still not finished yet, getting pretty close now thoughSent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  25. Correct! No silly questions here mate even a genius asks his questions A quick google search should give you the info. you're looking for. I use the xxxrap shallow cast models chasing larger species off the stones. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
