Hi all,
Not too long ago I put a similar post about zero squid and no takers, but now after a fair bit of research and questions answered on the forum, today I came up with two nice calamari and a couple of cuttle fish I believe!
I know to most fishos catching bait is a given but to me I was absolutely buzzing that I was actually getting results from all the practice.
With my live bait tank full (not really but for me it was chockers) I went straight to one of the harbour markers to drift out a live squid.
Long story short I proceeded to do this at the wedding cakes and a fair few channel markers for nothing.
First question:
Do I need to run a lighter leader and/or lose the sinker? I was fishing 30lb braid with a running ball sinker to swivel and 60lb fluorocarbon.
Second:
Do cuttle fish make good kingy bait?
And third:
For harbour kings is September a slower month?
