  5. Hi everyone, I'm not a regular contributor (yes guilty as charged) but am genuinely very happy that the site has the potential to live on ? When I first joined I couldn't believe it was free in the first place and have to agree with previous comments that not only is it very well run, but it promotes so many things I'm passionate about as a fisherman. Not to mention the vast amount a priceless information and to me it would be worth every penny. Cheers Cheers
  6. Hi mate I had your exact thoughts and headed out to fad21. Dragged a few skirts around for ages for zeros. Headed north to 12 mile and back in towards the heads for the same result. Not even a bite. Pretty frustrating especially since this season seems to be producing. Oh well next time!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I was out last night as well on the same stretch of water. Couldn't get a hit on plastics and vibes. Still nice to be out! Here is a pic I took of what to me looks like a Jew or two underneath some bait. Just wondering what some of you more experienced fishos think? Sorry to hijack you post by the way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Jockey wheel

Hi I ended up replacing it for the cost of $80. And definitely has made my life easier as I can lower and raise it with more range than previously. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Right. I'll definitely give it a go! Cheers for the advice. Too effort once again [emoji106][emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Jockey wheel

Hi Guys, I'm not sure if this is a rookie mistake, or if my jockey wheel is just broken. Anyway I raised the jockey wheel to its highest point to put my boat at more of an angle to drain some of the water from the recent rains. Now it won't lower. Attached is a few pics that I thought might be relevant. I did a few google searches on troubleshooting and came up with nothing. Not sure if it's my trailer or just my stupidity?!! Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Thanks for the reply. A downrigger is next on the list actually. And yes the cuttle fish was doing its best to have a go at my fingers! Slippery suckers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hi all, Not too long ago I put a similar post about zero squid and no takers, but now after a fair bit of research and questions answered on the forum, today I came up with two nice calamari and a couple of cuttle fish I believe! I know to most fishos catching bait is a given but to me I was absolutely buzzing that I was actually getting results from all the practice. With my live bait tank full (not really but for me it was chockers) I went straight to one of the harbour markers to drift out a live squid. Long story short I proceeded to do this at the wedding cakes and a fair few channel markers for nothing. First question: Do I need to run a lighter leader and/or lose the sinker? I was fishing 30lb braid with a running ball sinker to swivel and 60lb fluorocarbon. Second: Do cuttle fish make good kingy bait? And third: For harbour kings is September a slower month? Transom saver?

Hi guys, Just wanted gauge opinion on transom savers. Are they a necessity? My owners manual says that I should have one fitted when trailering but have been getting by with it fully trimmed up and locked in. My trailer doesn't fit the y fork style and a search online came up with an American compression cylinder type thing. Not sure if I'm allowed to use brand names here so didn't include the name. Anyway would be interested to see what you guys think. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Cheers scratchie Once I get some more experience, Broughton is definitely on the list! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks for the advice. Will definitely give it a crack. Out of curiosity what size jig? The smallest I've got is 2.5. And do you recommend a certain colour or does it change to what the weather/sky is doing? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hi Jim, Tried looking for the Member's Boat section but came up donuts like my fishing outing haha. Anyway here's a pic of the boat Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
