  1. I would think that you have to filter as much water as possible. So probably will need a Sump of about 20% the capacity of your tank. I don't think fancy lighting will be necessary. Might need a heater to keep temp stable. And air pump is must specially if you are going to have a large number off fish or bigger yakkas
  2. Hey man, I love chasing kingies as well. I usually combine Live baiting and lure fishing, its very doable. You should try and spin Garfish. I have caught many kingies spinning gars. If you buy quality hooks and swivels, your gang hooks should land most fish. Live baiting is usually better( at least for me) but you have to put the hours. If there is no bait at one spot I usually try a second spot. there are a few consistent spots around Sydney to catch bait. I also use poppers, stick bait, metal lures. I really enjoy how graphic using poppers can be. I have not broken the meter mark using poppers yet but I hope I do it this season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69qtNPbb-70 The above link shows you a way to rig and present your gars, at 12:40 Alex demonstrate how to do it. I hope this helps.

    Trip to Sydney

congratulations to the girls. Do you live in Narooma Jon? I was there 2 weeks ago, I can say we fell in love with the place. We are looking to buy a liltle house there or a piece of land. I have my eye on a block in Dalmeny. Going there in two weeks again.
  12. I went to the spit bridge on Thursday, I was trying to get some yakkas and squid for an upcoming trip. I got about 7 yakkas and 2 squids. There were 2 other guys fishing there as well they caught about 7 salmon between them in about 45 min using metals
  13. FISHRAIDER has tons of information on most ledges in NSW.
  14. Pretty much any beach will potentially hold salmon, Look for the gutters and you should be able to find some fish. early morning hours have worked for me, also sunset. Where in Sydney are you?
  15. Hey man, I am not very familiar with the eastern suburbs, but if you decide to come to the northern beaches you can try. Old mans hat, the ovens at whales beach, blue fish point and north or south curl curl rocks. to name a few spots. always wear the necessary safety gear and try to get some local information on whatever ledge you decide to fish. good luck
