  1. There used to be huge runs of Blue Swimmers down at Windang years ago prior to them changing the entrance to the lake. Would be fishing at night on the bridge, get them half way up and then they let go,lol. Also used to be good for small to medium Octopus 'Gong end of the bridge from the footpath. I have a few crap hoops at home and would love to catch my first mudcrab, THEN I would show you guys how I cook Chilli Cracked Crab Singapore style, lol
  2. Nice work Razell and great reporting as usual, I have a couple of questions however so here goes. 1. What are e.ps? 2. Is it safe to eat the fish from the Cooks? It hasn't been the cleanest system over the years.
  3. My brother is up there at the moment staying at Lake Cathie, but he isn't catching nothing, infact his partners non fishing 16yr old loud as hell daughter has caught the biggest flathead so fare...............and he is not impressed, lol
  4. Sounds great mate but how about the recipe cos' I love a good hot curry.
  5. I used to catch Tailor often in my younger days at the Bondi Murk, an old bloke told me to always bleed them and eat them fresh as they do not freeze well. Don't know if that is true cos' I took his word for it and never froze them.
  6. Ok that will take out the guess work mate, thanks for that and I'm really looking forward to meeting up with you all in person, cheers.........Stu
  7. I have only ever used bait before so what exactly will I need to buy? Is it like squidgies and those hooks with the sinker/heads etc.
  8. I pulled a couple of big one's in from Garie Beach in the National Park on prawns a couple of years ago and apparently there are plenty of them. One mistake I did make though is when you get them home and cook them up for dinner, skin the buggers otherwise they taste quite gritty.
  9. Hi everyone, have been reading a lot of reports and I fall into the Desperate and Boatless category very much and I'm keen on fishing in general inside or outside. The fish I most want to catch is my first Kingfish and/or Mahi Mahi but just love to fish when I can. If any of you want a companion on your boat I'm more than willing to pay my way with the fuel and bait or whatever. I live Sth West Sydney area near Campbelltown so send me a message and I will reply with my mobile number etc and hopefully we can go out and fish together, also interested in boat rules and regulations you never know I may win lotto and then the wife can't deny me a boat of my own,lol Regards Stuart
  10. Some really good reading amongst the fishing reports today, well done on your catch Stu sounded like a great day, hit me up if you ever need company always willing and keen to learn, cheers.........Stu
  11. Awesome reading mate, would be very interesting if you could actually have your course plotted on here with your catches marked.
  12. Great fish and great write up Mike, look forward to reading more from you but please be careful on your kayak.
  13. Nice going mate, sounds like something I may have to do myself but wonder if they can do it out of Botany Bay or Pt Hacking.
  14. I can't believe you had to have needles prior to removal, when I got a hook stuck in my outer thigh the doctor just pushed it further until the barb protruded then he snipped it off and pulled the shank backwards and out, Dettol wash, bandaid and a few one liners about 'catch of the day',lol
  15. I will catch a Mahi Mahi and Kingfish one day, well done guys.................so jealous.
  16. Something else I just thought of to that may be really cool for a 7yr old, check with your local council and also Campbelltown Council for the next carp fishing days out of the local dams/ponds in our local parks, he will catch a carp or an eel for sure.
  17. You can also try Kelso Beach just off Henry Lawson Drive at Picnic Point, there always seems to be people there with the rods in the water.
  18. What an awesome fish to catch and on such wrong boat for it to, a shame it died but I think you did what you could have and you didn't waste it at the end, my arms were burning in sympathy just reading your story.
  19. Fab1 if you need a companion for fishing hit me up I'm available most times, blind as a bat at night though but very willing.
  20. Thanks for your reply Scratchie, I used to catch black drummer years ago when I was a kid down at the Bondi Murk before they moved the outfall pipe, used to be great tailor action as well.
  21. sounds like they had a lot of fun, my son's have no interest in fishing at all no matter how hard I try. Just one question the 'blackfish' I thought if they have stripes like this they are a Luderick or are they one and the same. The blackfish I have caught in the past were actually solid black no stripes but I also think they were called drummer, maybe someone can clarify this for me.
  22. Pt Hacking is sounding really good, well done on your catch papafish but the pizza idea was very cunning, lol
  23. Don't forget to buy a new paddle Razzell, well done your weekend sounded great.
  24. Nice catch mate, and you say you waded out? In Pt Hacking, I'm boatless and not to good on the uneven surface these days so was the going hard to reach before you reach the water, I know you won't say exactly where the place is that's understandable but a few clues to the general area would be appreciated if you will, cheers.
  25. Fished foreshore point this morning with my brother, tom ugly's was to crowded and the wind was coming straight at us so we moved to the south end of the bridge parked and walked up to the park on the point. Not much happening 3 fingerling sized whiting on live nippers but nothing else at all. We watched all the boats going at it around the pylons and a few game boats heading out feeling like the peasants, but we don't get much time alone together these days so just wetting a line with him was time well spent, just wish one of them boat skippers would have felt sorry for us and come and got us,lol
