Gday raiders Still a few flatties around the estuaries these two were caught drifting round moorings on 5 inch samaki bomb shads and 3/8 jig heads as it was deep water Fish were caught at about 40 mins after high The bigger one put up a decent struggle on the light gear They Also cooked up nicely Had scaled one before thinking of putting up a report Long time since last report sorry Cheers

For a 4-8kg i would think try something round 15gm

Plenty of quality braids 30-40lb is your best bet i reckon no lighter for jewies just a few stellas eh i like Fins

yes if you can fit the line through and tie a knot it will be fine 23 kg breaking strain is going to hold for the mentioned fish And if you get snapped it'll be the line over the swivel if that happens you need heavier gear ?

Walk along the foreshore to cover ground bream flathead and whiting will be there so grub style lures probably be best to cover all three fish also a popper could be fun beause its relatively shallow hope this helps somewhat good luck

Gday raiders Recently I've been doing research on getting a jewie of the beach But I would like to hear peoples opinions on rigs and baits for the fish I am only thinking about a 60-80cm fish for starters anyway I've got a 6-10kg starlo stick 11ft and 4000 daiwa Aird with 30 lb braid There has been some great information in previous threads and would love to see some in here and maybe someone but myself could be helped Cheers ARC H

they are endangered so they probably are in sydney just rare unless you mean sword fish??
