  1. Will do, got a few days off next week, see if I can sort something out.
  2. BRAND: Yamaha HP (model): F115LB YEAR: 2017 BOAT DATA (length, weight): 5.8, 1080kg YOUR SERVICE INTERVAL: Yearly FUEL: 91 HOW LONG HAVE YOU USED THE OUTBOARD (hours on motor): 160 TYPICAL BOATING USE (boating, skiing, fishing etc): fishing offshore mostly OTHER COMMENTS: No issues so far, except factory prop not the best my boat. Fuel consumption: 4500 rpm/ 20 knots/ 18L/h
  3. Here's a diagram of the seating configuration. Blue dots are adults, red are the kids, they move around.
  4. Thanks for the suggestion guys. When I had 4 adults and 2 kids on board the seating configuration goes 3 adults in the cabin, 1 adult and 2 kids at stern for the majority of the trip. At times I had everyone except 1 adult in the stern and it did not make much difference in the times it took to get on plane. I can rule out weight distribution as most of time no one sits at the stern in my boat, as the enclosed cabin is a lot more comfortable that's protected from the elements. I think I will try a 4 blade prop as suggested, as it sounds like the most economical solution. Anyone know if Solas Amita 4 is a good option?
  5. It's on a 6m glass boat. It does sound underpowered, however 115 is the stated max horsepower by the manufacture. With 15P prop it performs well with up to three people, cruise at 20 knots around 4500 rmp and max out at 30 knots. I feel like the issue is not power but a lack of grip by the prop as the acceleration around 10 knots before jumping onto plane is slow with a heavy load. With a 17P prop it becomes revs get higher with very slow speed increase before planning. The boat is a merryfisher 605 by the way.
  6. It could be the prop hub, however it's a new motor and prop so I don't think it's a likely case. I've tried the 17P prop as well, got a higher top speed but took forever to get on plane due to prop not having enough bite.

    Solas prop

I've got a Yamaha F115 with standard 15P alloy props. It performs adequately under normal load, however when I have 4 or more people on board it slips a bit and takes much longer to get on plane. I've been looking at Solas Saturn of the same size and pitch. Would this give a better grip than the stock alloy one?
  8. Nice one Bill, now you can load up with lives at the artificial and head off to 12 miles for some kingies with your new boat. Heard there's some big kingies at the moment around 12 miles and the peak, not consistent however.
  9. There's no conversion, just enter 33 21 279, 151 34 534 assuming the coordinates are in degrees minutes seconds (DSC)format. If it's degree decimal(DD) format, which I don't think it is, you can google gps converter and convert it with the app.
  10. theres been report of yellowfin caught yesterday around 1000 fathoms. Bluefin have gone a bit too wide.
  11. Similar, but I was getting shorter lines, could be the current moving the fish a bit quicker through the water. I reckon they are all tailors as well, was pulling up a few small tailors every now and then a couple of weeks ago when water temp was over 16 degrees. Now that the temp dipped to 14 or below they seem very inactive.
  12. I had three donut sessions last two weeks fishing for hairtail @ wb,jb,lgb. Every time the sounder would look crazy with lots of fish and action, yet the bait can stay on the hook untouched the whole night. I’m coming to think the hairtail season ended
  13. Pleasure to read this report, will be heading out this Sunday so fingers crossed we land something
  14. Well done , awesome report. Hopefully we’ll find some fins off Sydney soon.
  15. Shimano Tld has got a good reputation as an entry level reel. Ebay with 10 % discount at the moment is about $130.
  16. Braid with about 10 meter wind on mono leader works well. Can use it for both game fish or deep drop.
  17. Hi, does anyone know where I can catch some longfin perch (also know as pinkies)? Was told they are usually in waters more than 70m, so fished at 12 miles yesterday, but with no success, was a few flathead around though.
  18. Hi, doing a deep drop at browns mountain next Tuesday. I have one spot for someone with a electric reel. Cheers Simon
  19. Its been a pleasure, good job on the flathead, it's about a PB for me.
  20. Great report, I was at waratah bay last night, no hairtails there, just a couple of tailors and baby snapper
  21. I fish solo most of the time and have just moved from a 5m aluminium boat to a 6m fiberglass. Think I've seen you at Roseville bridge boat ramp, I'm there quite a lot
  22. Barcrushers are very nice boats, but do come at a premium price. if it's a plate boat you are after I think surtees is also a good option
  23. Tie a light stick to your rig, it will increase your catch significantly. Even better to get a battery power one, red light works best. Hairtails are attracted by light.
  24. I've tried Sydney east fad couple of times last month without success
