Mate that looks so fun puts a whole other dynamic on boating.... Top stuff

  2. Hi raiders.... Just a simple outboard flusher I recently gave my outboard a 100 hour service changed my impeller and thermostat  so I thought why not always wanted to get one works awesome..... I noticed with how they were if I'd squeeze them on the tell tale would shoot out nearly twice the distance with these it works like that without squeezing them.

So if ya got a couple of hose fittings around might make for quick 5 minute project... And sorry if it's been done as it's very basic  had a quick look couldn't find anything

    Cheers guys

Thank you all for your very kind words. I've had a great day. Early morning phone calls from the kids and grandkids set the mood for the day. Took one of the granddaughters to Griffith for a hairdressing appointment. 2.5 hrs she was in there. I had planned to visit the Regional Art Gallery but it was closed. Bumped into a few characters who I know so the time went by quickly. Lunchtime when Sam finally emerged, looking all beautiful. Not sure she was impressed when I said that she could have had open heart surgery in about the same time... any way she shouted me some lunch and bought me a present. Didn't manage to wet a line but not overly concerned as I've caught 27 Cod in the last 3 outings. No keepers but they were all released and will no doubt grow into fine specimens, down the track. bnIMG_9348rs.jpg.50ab0f64837a5c060b085c765874d41e.jpgIMG_9367rs.jpg.5745f5ce6c7fdb029d039669dca33cf5.jpgIMG_9350rs.jpg.fdb1d87efc59d548407780956c1552ba.jpgIMG_9349rs.jpg.c67c3a6a30d95cfcff1a6dc6560b3aac.jpgIMG_9357rs.jpg.4df187176738c6ec023478ab979b1124.jpg

I use Fast Orange hand cleaner and then rub them on the stainless steel sink, Stainless is meant to get rid of smells like fish and onions.

p.s that’s part of the reason i fish Catch and release, I don’t know how to fillet and hate the smell of fish in the house.

Yeah I've heard that stainless steel works never tried it they used to sell em like Lil cakes of stainless steel cakes of soap... Hope the ointment worked OK for your condition raging ?

  6. Hi fair dinkum how ya going mate... Definitely come to the right place for advice on boats and fishing that's for sure alot of good guys and girls willing to help along the way

As for the inside of the boat I'd get rid of the yellow I done one before was white on the inside and had grey aluminium checkerplate floor... Helped with the glare also like in my freedom sport it's like white with flicks of other colours I'm guessing to break the glare... But yeah heaps more safer things to do than have a canary yellow boat

Anyway cheers and good luck with it

I’ve seen some crackers come out of the channel. Back in the late 70s/early 80s, spinning with long big bibbed deep diving  minnies was the go. And they used to gaff them! My, how times have changed! My PB   (87cm) came out of the channel, on a poddy.

Lol that's funny my Pb was 87 to right from under Neath  the bridge... Oh and well done rick good effort sounded like a hard day

  8. Yep never ending with boats if you want em in good reliable order... Yeah I'm changing my impeller I'll check the housing,  mines more preventative measures wanna see condition of  the oil seals to... Going to change the lower leg oil etc check for water it's coming up to  its 100 service so going to give her a good going over

  9. Actually it's not the head gasket the water jacket not sure what it's called directly under the thermostat... Dunno if you had a Lil bit of crap in there might just do the same clean what I can I might just do the water pump / impeller and thermostat... Think it might even be the exhaust plate that'd be of no use ummm yeah don't want to go digging around for a problem  when it's going OK just a thermostat replacement and impeller

  10. Just took my thermostat out was stuck open thank God ummm alot of build up of salt silt etc... I'm going to change the impeller now also after seeing this  is it worth taking the cylinder head cover off would I be able to get much of the crap out? Was going to take it off and try also replacing gaskets...

I just cleaned out my thermo housing and cover two weeks ago..i lightly scraped away the little bit of build up in there and discovered my poppet valve was stuck..which I freed up and cleaned lubed and re fitted..i don't know if your model has it...im not sure on actual tension as I just firm by hand..being s/steel in alloy you cant go to errol or you will strip threads....rick
