I did say in my opinion fab?specially if you don't know the history anyone could say anything yeah mate she's right always looked after who knows some people don't even flush there motors or aren't mechanically minded at all ... Only ever had new motors or newish ( less than 100 hours .. But as I said the 4ohp lightning xr never let me down once...
-
The only thing I do remember was it was pretty loud I remember some days me ears used to ring lol... Imo 300 hours is pretty high but in saying that depends how it's been looked after and the price of course
-
No way man I had a 2011 could of been 2010 Not sure now lol 40 hp lightning xr was bloody awesome motor there a rebranded tohatsu or something I've heard although I only had mine for about 40 hours was a good 40 hours but only had like 40 hours on it when I got it and the black rocks wish my yammie was black Bahaha looks heaps better... Imo and was meticulously looked after

Narrabeen is my favourite whiting beach caught some monster elbow slappers that I've mistaken for salmon lol ummm they real close to like 5 10 metres out.. No special gear needed except beachworms or blood worms and that's off the beach in the wash

I know how hard it is to walk away... Specially if you have nice stuff and don't wanna lose it by getting sued by some wanker... Not a good feeling

It was difficult, I wanted to give them a piece of my mind but do it in a way that maintains who I am. but if I did, what then. it was a huge lake with plenty of room but still they came close enough to unnerve me
Yeah that's bad specially if yas couldn't even fish properly & retrieve the boat must of been bad could only imagine ...

Hi Raiders.
Just a quick report. Headed down to Evans Head for the long weekend. We had a big crowd in a hired house of 4 adults & 7 kids. Friday arvo we hit the beach for some pipis & a total of 5 rays. My mate took his Tabs tinny down & Saturday was the pick of the days to head offshore at sun up. Unfortunately his sounder packed it in & we couldn't pick up any bottom structure. The gps was still working, so we dropped as close to the marks we had & burleyed hard. Scored a few squire to 40cm & then jigged up some yakkas. Moved to another mark in 30m of water & I tossed the livie out on 30lb braid. As I was free spooling it down line started ripping off the reel. Set the hook & after an epic fight nailed my pb dolly. Fought it right out, so managed a few pics while it still had colour. Home by 1pm, cleaned the fish & then hit the beach in the 4wd's again & fished a nice gutter for a bag of dart. My young fella was stoked to score his 1st fish off the beach & we had a massive feed of crab, calamari & dolly that night. Action packed 48hrs. It felt like we were away for a week! Pic attached.
Cheers, Grant.
Smashing the cod smashing the dollies... Well done Jewhunter did you weigh and measure it?

If your thermostat is full open will take ages to get to operating temp... Not good revving the cr?P out of a cold engine, Definitely needs a new one... And not sure on your mechanic but hunting means it's hunting for fuel ie searching, starving for fuel..... Definitely not running perfect... Also I'd be running some salt away through it and be looking at the rebuild job on the carby...

Oo oo ooh nice one rick but the freedom sports are pretty smooth compared to some lol ?
-
Yeah I don't know what made me even think of it lol... I did find it but not stamped but I found the sticker/ plate was behind the closing door to the bow ( bowrider)
-
I rang dealer from in town and they said if it's a quintrex it'll be stamped on it instead of the plate but can't find anything... It's a quintrex freedom sport

Thanks guys... Yeah I do have a couple of different lures surface and subsurface and that's the thing in the spot in the pic like it doesn't look like it but there's a big current real hard to fish with lures and can't stay in the zone long enough .....but I am persevering ill get there one thing with the bait it's non stop action bite after bite, runs Everything and even when I cast over that spot with a lure nothing, I'd love to know what the buggers are eating because what ever it is they are healthy satisfied thick fish ... And I'm seeing all these juvenile fish so healthy makes me think about the absolute beasts that are eating them ... Time to take my boat to wyangala again I think holiday makers should be nearly all gone got a couple of real nice ac invaders 24ft models
4 hours ago, big Neil said:G'day Omally. Well done on the upsizing Cod. I don't know what lures you're using but one thing that works well with Cod is to make sure that you're "in the zone". There's a lot of guesswork involved with Cod fishing because you can (usually) only guess what the sub surface structure is like and where the fish MAY be holding, relevant to what you estimate. Diving lures may not be getting down deep enough to interest a potential strike whereas a big spinnerbait, slowly retrieved, will make contact with the deeper structure and possibly get the fish to hit it. Certainly the guesswork can be eliminated during low light periods when surface lures or buzzbaits are a good option. The only other advice, you already know...put the time in. Eventually it will pay off. Good luck mate, you're getting there, bn

Going to try another spot at Gooloogong tomorrow it's a big pool at an end of rapids I have been there before but never with any good lures and this spot I know holds 70 pound fish... Might try right on dark tomorrow and fish an hour or two past that.. Might leave the boys at home and give it a good crack
-
Took the boys down to our Lil hole this arvo first cast with the chicken breast hook up to this beast well to us noobs anyway haha probably doubled my Pb.... But in all the excitement and wanting to get it back to the water I forgot to measure it lol... Tried relentlessly with the lures again not even a sniff like I know they are there so frustrating.. Once again just as it got dark had to leave boys were starting to act up and my Lil 5 year old was getting a bit scared which is fair enough Lil bugger ... But all in all a good trip... Not gonna give up on the lures but gotta be coming soon
