  1. I would even think about it in a 15ft fibreglass boat.
  2. None of the ramps have pontoons, Jamieson Park is probably the best as the one at the caravan park has a nasty drop off at the end of it. Depending on how high off the water your boat is and where you want to fish will also impact where you launch. The Pittwater Rd road bridge is pretty low, mine fits under it at the moment with about 6 inches to spare so a runabout probably won't fit at the moment.
  3. Either the one near the caravan park, or the one I normally use is the one at Jamieson Park. There are 2 other ramps in the lake but they are only really suitable for small tinnies. What size boat are looking at launching?
  4. No, there are areas where anchoring is prohibited. Google RMS boating Maps a have a look at the area you wish to go.
  5. Boats under 6m are required to carry paddles or oars unless a second form of propulsion is fitted. Not going to get very far with a paddle. Of you were to go down the electric motor route 54lb's would be the bare minimum for your boat.
  6. 6lb braid with 8lb mono leader.
  7. Plenty of good size fatties around the shallows flicking plastics. Smallest was just under 50cm largest around 65cm. All were released.
  8. I have just upgraded to a Renegade 460 with all the fruit from a cuddy cabin and couldn't be happier. Spent over 12 months looking around getting a feel for the different offerings and price points. Things I learnt over the last 12 months; Don't rush it Decide on what you want to do with boat, fish, family days, etc. Decide on where you want to do the above. How much do you want to spend, don't forget the extra's. Involve everyone who is likely to use the boat as well (wife, kids) Bigger is not neccesarily better when you consider storage options, using it one up, towing, the list goes on. Price is a generally a big consideration for everyone. What I found is i could get the Renegade anywhere from sub $30K up to just over $40K. Why the difference in price? The main seemed to be the motor that was fitted anywhere from a 50hp up to a 75hp. You are better off with a slightly smaller boat with the max recommended hp rather than a bigger boat with a lower than recommended max hp. The other difference in prices was the options fitted, keep in mind it will be more expensive to fit options after you have purchased. One thing I wanted was a full transom and found only a couple of boats had this at that size. Good luck with your purchase.
  9. I use a Shimano Raider Travel 703 Spin rod 2- 4kg. Run 6lb braid with an 8lb mono leader, very rarely loose a fish due to being bitten off. Largest caught so far with this combo was 74cm. Mostly fish in less than 1m of water so other species not really an issue. SHIMANO RAIDER TRAVEL 703 BREAM SPIN ROD
  10. Before you head to a boat ramp hook the boat up and head to your local shopping centre after hours. Practice reversing and parking with the trailer on to build up your confidence first. Ramps can be daunting places the first couple of times especially on weekends when they are busy.
  11. You should be getting around 14 volts.
