  1. Thanks @faker for time stamp. So ultimately they deferred to seek views of the DPI, minister for agriculture and minister for environment.
  2. @Rebel Replay of the council meeting here item discussed just under an hour in, 53 minutes. haven’t watched it yet not sure on the result
  3. Tough to decide really it’s about the scenery and the outdoors for me but I would have to say buzzing crankbaits is always a pleasure, that initial dive and then the vibration on the retrieve still gets me going even if I’m not catching fish
  4. Warriors with a big message, Bunnies game next week will be a cracker. Ever seen a bloke more dejected than Ben Hunt at his post match conference? Sheer cruelty to be on camera after that game. Warriors in a good position coming into their home games. Very pleasing result
  5. Proper inspiration there @Bennyg78! Awesome to see raiders getting into the comps. Tough month for a bream contest too it’s been many moons since I last caught a legal one. Good on you for taking the plunge and entering, hope to hear more comp reports coming through!
  6. @JaniFIN thank you so much for sharing these reports! That is an absolute stunning fish congratulations to you.
  7. Great job that’d be a mean fight on 6lb well done.
  8. Great performance by the Warriors, down 6-0 no possession, a man in the bin, it could’ve gone very wrong. Taking my boy to his first game this weekend dragons v souths
  9. A mouth certainly wouldn’t go astray! Though I reckon it’d look beautiful as a Mr Blobby…🤣 @ThePod Troy you’re insane I think, but I love this so much. Good on you it looks utterly spectacular. I can’t even imagine how you’ll be feeling as you’re lowered into the water for the maiden voyage. One of the coolest things I’ve seen, keep the updates coming
  10. This channel has some amazing topwater strikes from big Wels Catfish.
  11. Interesting topic, I had a similar problem months ago which in hindsight was also J-braid. I switched to Berkeley X8 and it hasn’t happened since though I never put two and two together that it may have been the braid - I just figured my knots got better! Still use the J-thread leader though that stuff is awesome
  12. Haha @noelm it was released. Probably didn’t quite fit in the esky !
  13. Almost three meters! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12160719/World-record-9ft-4-fish-caught-Italian-river-43-minute-struggle.html
  14. @BaitDropper looking at the games the warriors have left I reckon there’re a good chance at top 4. A lot of the tougher games are behind us already. We don’t have any more games against Brisbane ,Penrith, Storm, Roosters and of the 13 left we’ve a bye, dragons x 2, raiders x 2, tigers…and our tougher games against bunnies and sharks are in Auckland. No guarantees in such a tight comp of course and I wouldn’t be surprised if we get walloped in Canberra next week but it’s a relatively straightforward second half of the comp for the Warriors.
  15. So the bigger you go the stiffer the body is right with the hook further back. A shorter one droops/sags at the tail. I reckon you get more wobble with a smaller size, at least while it’s in motion. Plus 2/0s we’re all I had. I dunno about you lot but every time I go to buy Jigheads off the shelf there’s never the size I’m looking for.
  16. I use 2/0s but probably a 3/0 might’ve been a better fit.
  17. @faker a quarter ounce, heavy as I was casting at faraway bridge pylons and needed the extra distance to reach them.
  18. @Little_Flatty just to rub it in I chucked the 5” diesel on tonight…two tailor and two flatheads in an hour….🤣 Must be because I’m fishing upstream of you - fish hitting the phone tree to warn their buddies down your way! Jokes and one-upping aside I agree the diesels are hard work. I only really use them for a bit of extra casting distance. I’d take a slim swim any day of the week usually. The retrieve for the diesels that worked tonight was fast roll / sudden stops
  19. The halco twisty. I’ve cast that thousands of times for zilch. And yet I know it’s a good lure. My several must just broken 😆 As for blessed….anything the bloke next to me is using
  20. Great fish, 36cm is a whopper and she looks fat too, well done Marky Jr!
  21. Beats the usual Donuts, @Little_Flatty 😉
  22. Yes it was one of those sessions where we just out to be out, and rather than tie on and catch more we figured celebrate with a pizza instead. It was his birthday, and his first catch on surface - pretty good way to celebrate the big day!
  23. Low tide tonight arrived underneath iron cove bridge (city side) about 8pm, mate Paul and i tied on surface lures, Chug Norris 50s. The new carpark by the sports ground is finished and after easy parking and a minute walk we started casting under the bridge pylons from shore. 30 mins and a new PB for both of us, with a 56cm for me and a 52cm for him (Paul in the hi vis). Followed by both losing the lures, snapped off on more big fish so we called it a night early, with grins all the way to our ears! Both on 6lb. Looking back at my old photos of my previous best tailor they were at same location in previous Mays. Been plenty of good size tailor up the cooks river lately too, a great time to be working surface before it gets much colder. See you out there! Mike
  24. Well that one clearly did. That’s a straight up attack, no nudging or inspections there. amazed he didn’t end up in the water. Orcas a problem too apparently! https://nypost.com/2023/05/20/killer-whales-are-attacking-and-sinking-boats/
