  1. the better half , daughter number 2 and myself will definately be there but (at the moment) i think we will be leaving the gear and boat at home and just enjoy the company the day will bring.
  2. yeah mate it fell to a livie on the surface at a slow troll it was a great day out with Iain's confidence in his new toy showing with his demo of a full lock turn at reasonable speed (damn i'm impressed with that boat), his dad popping his cherry on kings (over and over again), Steve wanting pic's with just about every king he boated (except when the action was red hot with multi hookups) and with me getting one of my goals for the season allready out of the way with a king boated using my little abu garcia 6600 (wont mention loseing my nilsy when i got smoked getting greedy going for a keeper on it ) once again thanks for the invite Iain
  3. While watching the Cricket the other night my wife and I were discussing life and death. I told her, "Just so you know, I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and relying on fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug." She promptly got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all my beer.
  4. another vote for retieval mate rollers i have a 5.25 glass half cab and the rollers centre the boat great even if it is at almost 90deg to the trailer.
  5. mate the bust ups were so+_+_)e were spotting them from over 200mtrs away and there were also almost always birds working
  6. I got a call from sea-jay mid week to see if i was interested in heading out on his new boat to run up a few hours on saturday, who could knock back an offer like that so plans were made and hopes were high. the weather was looking less than favourable as we got to the ramp at about 5:30am and one person (big steve) had pulled out, but being the optomists we are we decided that conditions would get better as the sun came up so Iain (seajay) Brett (tunofun) and myself hit the water. after getting a tankful of livies we headed out to see what conditions were like outside, it was sloppy to say the least but Iain's boat made it feel comfortable enough to give it a go so the spread was set and off we went trolling north. now for the fun part over the next few hours we came across schools of kings that were busting up the surface in patches up to 80 mtrs wide and didnt care what was offered up they just smacked the lot. they hit skirts, divers, bibless minnows and the bigger fish were slamming slow trolled livies (yakka's). double and tripple hookups were the order of the day and we even had a big sargent baker (Iain) a pike (Brett) and thumper salmon (myself) rise to the lures. Iain was the man of the moment boating the two biggest fish, 76cm and 73cm. he also got his hooks into his butt and shoelace we're not sure how many kings came over the side but it was definately over the 20 fish mark with the majority going between 55cm and 59cm. with 4 kings over 60 being kept as well as the salmon (my wife loves them). all in all a great day on the water in conditions that were tamed by a fantastic boat that i am sure will see more than it's share of big palegics hit the deck over the comming months. thanks for the invite mate and congratulations on the boat she's an absolute ripper now heres a few pics of the days effort.
  7. how about we get a couple of the female members to participate as well. i'd hate to see the snivel libitarians start calling it a sexist competition
  8. that sucks mate, and unfortunately most crims know how to get around password protection in a matter of minutes. karma will catch up with them sooner or later
  9. another great reason i never anchor up over bommies (like i've seen many do) even in the calmest weather
  10. bunch of slackers, its too hard and too exspensive so we give up! pity they dont feel the same way when they give themseves a big pay rise. one drastic alternative would be a barren earth aproach, rip everything out and then re-plant the natives, it will devistate the short term ecology but its got to be better in the long run than having that crap infest our waterways.
  11. my very first numb ray i didnt know what it was so i did a belly lift on it into the boat........scared the shit out of me but taught me not to handle fish i didnt know about
  12. hit the water with brett (tunofun) burn out benney and phil at the gentlemanly hour of 9am and set some witches hats out at towra then went looking for some lizards. on our first drift phil's rod gets a healthy bend in it and he pulls up to the boat "a nice big flounder" unfortunatley i told him before he lifted it into the boat that it was a numbfish so we missed out on a laugh. next to bring a fish to the boat was ben, a thumping big snapper of about 8 or 9 cm, so we decided to leave this red hot action and head to the HWO for zip. over to the third runway where benny hooks into a nice fish that had us all guessing what it was, turns out to be a very fat trev of 41cm. my turn next with a great lizard of about 6cm then brett chimes in with a 40cm trev. not a great day fish wise but fantastic company with a fair few beers some good hearted sh!t stiring AND NO WORK made it all worth while. as far as the witch's hats went we pulled up 1 very healthy jenny that was loaded with eggs so she was sent back to increase the future population. thanks again brett for a great time out and its great to see the arm stood up to the test......now lets go get some real fish!!!!! ben's trev phil's big flounder
  13. i'm hoping the BOM forcast for sunday changes for the better so i can hit the bay but i wont hold my breath. so it looks like a $6 steak dinner followed by copius quantities of the amber fluid while watching the tri-nations at the intersection tonight.
  14. i just recently started using a set of scales to set my drag, it was quite a surprise how light i had them set when i use to do it by feel. now the reels dont scream as much but i shouldnt get bricked as often as i used to.

    Swap Meet

great idea somewhere like lamberth park (where we had the blackfish social) where there is a good stretch of water and plenty of room. i'm sure there are a few wifes/partners that would like to see their fishing tragic part with some excess gear. might also be an oportunity for the sponsors to all bring along some of their bargins? sounds like another social
  17. sorry mate, i've already ordered my 80cm one from the fish shop
  18. i think it was fivedock bay i launched from, not a lot of parking an a plesant motor down to mort bay
  19. myself and mrsoutnumbered will try our best to be there. we wont know until closer to the day if the daughters will be with us or not. we will be in the boat but are more interested in the social side than the fishing. we would like invite landbased fisho's out on our boat for a fish, depending on how many there are we can fish with a different person on board for an hour or so each throughout the day to try to get as many people that would like to get out on the water as possible.
  20. i dont think it matters how much japan say they will cut their quota by. they have proven they ignore them and have no regard for the health of the marine enviroment or the sustainability of the fisheries.
  21. looks like the weather isnt playing fair, but if it comes good at least 1 day friday through monday i'll hit the bay. maybe hit the intersection for a couple of
  22. like this? sorry about the quality but a drunk had the camera
