If you change the trebles out for single hooks it makes fishing snag ridden, and new, areas easier, they'll also provide a stronger hook up.

I've never had that issue, seen that issue, or heard of that issue.

Purple is for small reels and cold climates, tan is for everything else. I use the tan in my 2500 size reels without issue.

I use 0.4 braid with 12lb leader, and 0.8 braid with 16lb leader.

That's terrible of them, just sloppy work. I hope they don't charge you the second time.

I use Diggers Wax & Grease Remover, and you'll want to use it to clean everything, not just the felt washers. As for tools, you'll need a small paintbrush for applying grease and another to aid in cleaning parts. They need to be opened, cleaned and oiled, but they can be annoying to open even with the appropriate tools. I would ring Shimano and replace them all. Their part numbers can be found on the schematics I posted in my above post.

As I said when I commented on that video last year, the anti-reverse clutch is lubricated by an oil impregnated felt washer and it should only be serviced if water and/or particulates have penetrated it.

Not a bad idea. You should take some line off that spool, it's overfilled.
