    Salmon.

Chriso - try smoking them.. awesome! otherwise I release them - so much fun on the light gear (sometimes they smoke YOU!) Steve.
  2. We should be putting some big live baits out in some of my fave jewholes with the rains + moon.. Let me know what time you get home. Steve.
  3. Good chance for you and your mates that you fish with to learn the rules.. They are their for a reason Here's a link to a download that will have all the saltwater rules.. http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/aboutus/resource...g-guide-2005-07 remember, ignorance is not an excuse. Cheers Steve.
  4. It was looking very fishy - and with surface boils and bust ups all over the place I thought it was inevitable to hook up.. unfortunately it wasnt the case. That's
  5. Yeah i'm keen to try the marker you pointed out - I will be making it a regular stop off on my sessions. Definately, that spot holds kings 90% of the time but late afternoon shows a marked increase in hookups/follows. I'm heading out this afternoon again with Daleyboy for our regular midweek session. Saturday is looking the goods - would love to go for a run on your boat mate. I'll give you a call later in the week.
  6. Tailor are great if you eat them fresh.. but best bet is to smoke them - YUM
  7. Good work on the video Nice ratking Squido!
  8. Good work on the livebait flatty. You guys are doing well - that king wont be long for you now.. Steve.
  9. Ha, ill give anything a go.. ive got some big rubber bands sitting at home.. just add some scent and whack it on the jighead.. ha what do I get if I bag one? We were trying with the baits as the plastics were just not firing. I think it has much to do with the amount of boats out - I hadn't fished in the morning on a saturday for a while now.. dayum - so much traffic and everyone chucking plastic around.. give me an arvo sunset session anyday! (will be out there tomoro arvo)
  10. 6inch stickbait - a brandless number that i picked up cheap.. in a flouro green/yellow pattern with lots of speckles.. fished on a heavy jighead.
  11. That's terrible - I would be mad like a cut snake. Glad everyone is okay.. Steve.
  12. Shame on the kings.. they will be on in a big way very soon
  13. Hit the water at 430am on saturday morning - An ominous looking sky and still a lot of wind blowing it didnt look too fishy - I met up with Squidboy in Balmain and we set off in search of some yakkas.. no luck.. Hit up my usual position and we were onto a few 30cm tailor.. certainly not the runs of early season kings! after a few torn up plastics, Dale rocks up and has a few shots.. no luck. We head off in search of squid.. many spots tried but with no luck. I managed to pick up one perfect size for kings and had him out live at various markers around the place. No luck - downrigged and all. Dropped Marco off, then sat in the sun with Dale trying for something to take home. No good.. An enjoyable session, albiet minus the kings, but great to have a fish with a raider. I took the boat out again on sunday late in the afternoon. I was getting smashed by the wind and wash from all the weekend warriors coming home.. really frustrating to have 40ft cruisers come thru at 20knts about 10m away, waving... I got wet several times anyway, just on sunset the wind died down and i managed a few drifts past my fave spot.. how sweet it is after all the frustration to be rewarded - 67cm ratking on placcie Headed home after that
  14. Just gobsmacked... Awesome fish and off the rocks - unbelievable!
  15. Nice! You just got me very pumped for saturday's session! Sounds like a fun session - good work!
  16. Very early session planned for saturday morning.. Scaling up our usual assault & going to work some deep holes that we have been sounding at our mark. Hopefully all goes to plan.. cause I have a feeling of a magic-metre king is imminent If it doesn't eventuate, I will be just as happy to be out there - I need it - Family probs, work pressure and now the is kicking up a stink..
  17. Daylight savings indeed!! We should catch up for a kingy session!
  18. If you are looking for kings at this time of year.. forget about the usual summer haunts - they are WELL upstream. You are looking for strong current, forming eddy's from structure(or bottom contour) that they can hold in. I like the lower end of the tide and lately we have been getting them with much more consistency in the arvo's than the mornings. Just get out there!
  19. good work! the kings are all over the place lately - its going to be a good season!
  20. Gazza the last hour of sun has been firing for us..
  21. The more you give the kings the more they will give back - if you are gentle with them *sometimes* they can be turned and boated with ease. Ahh all this talk of kings... the wind looks light this arvo and i was in at work early again this morning - looks like ill be giving them another crack solo today.
  22. Glen couldn't believe his luck, he was even falling over himself(and the boat)! ...the placcie hadn't sunk more than 2m on the first cast - doesn't get better than that!! Dale and I are having a 'who-can-get-the-biggest-king-on-the-lightest-gear' comp this season haha on 10lb the guy has a death wish! ps: Ill post a pic when i get home tonight - pics are on my phone..
  23. Unfortunately, this is true in some cases... Heh, once the school is put down a few times i tend to tie on a few old sinkers and start casting at said weekend warriors.. they soon get the idea "clunk"
  24. as much as this frustrates me, using the forum as an outlet won't really change much... I suggest, politely, motoring up to them and helping them by sharing your knowledge. You can bet that if they are newbies, they wont do it again, especially with the promise of more fish. You can even expand on the story and explain that they will get the bigger ones by being stealthy. I'd bet my last plastic stickbait in a school of kings that they wouldn't turn down catching bigger fish. Steve.
  25. Welcome aboard! Steve.
