  4. Tuesday I can probably do mate,I'll confirm it on the weekend but pretty sure I can make it.
  5. Decided to take a run down to Lake Illawarra this morning for what I hoped would be an assault on the local flathead population. Well it wasn't to be 4 hours flicking just about every colour placcie I had to land 1 little 35cm specimen just before I was to head off, Gongfisho made a short appearance to show of stayed 15mins and landed a 40cm model The fish were there the guys throwing out live poddy's were cleaning up but the plastic brigade were struggling. But it was sure better than working. Ben where is the best spot to get some poddy's down there I wouldn't mind having a go with them so I can go home with a feed. All in all it was still an enjoyable day
  6. Cheers Ben Like they say mate, the worst day fishing is better than the best day working Wouldn't be the first fishless outing I've been on and I'm still optomistic.
  7. Well done Grant, thats a great bass mate sorry you sold the yak now
  8. Heading down to have a crack tomorrows at Ben's flattie hole, gotta drop the little bloke off at preschool so should get there around 10-10.30 and head back around 3ish. I could get used to this fishing through the week but it wont last long. Hopefully it'll be flattie tails in beers batter for dinner tomorrow. Did you get there this arvo Ben and how did you go?

    Thank You

I think for the most part the rules are resonable, I've been around this site for a fair while now and have never had a drama with any of the admin team or mods, In this world it is impossible to cater for everyone but I reckon this site does a pretty good job in catering to the vast majority of members and has a community atmosphere that I am yet to find elsewhere on the web. I am a member of a few fishing forums but this is the only one I post on regularly and the only one that I get involved with social events. Keep it up FR your doing a great job
  10. Honestly you've gotta question the guys intelligence, who puts there hand in a sharks mouth Seen it on the news last night, luckilly for him it didn't do much damage
  11. As far as I know fish from Hacking are fine, it's a very clean waterway and I've eaten plenty of fish from the Port and so far a second head hasn't sprouted. I'm not a big bream fan anyway much prefer a good feed of beer battered flatty tails, homemade chips.lemon wedges and an ice cold
  12. Bloody hell I'm so far out of the fishing loop at the moment, completely forgot it was on, goes to show why I should check this site even when I don't have time for fishing Looks like a good night really wanted to get the good oil on reel maintenance too Bugger
  13. fellas Hope you all have a good one
  14. Great session Ronald, I've got some time off in the next couple of weeks so I think a few h&c sessions will be in order.
  15. Hi Guys Take me off the list of maybes for this one, with the new job I'm going to be a bit time poor for the next few months, I'm still in for the entrance though. Cheers
  16. I bet that was enough leverage to kick that habit Shouldn't laugh though could have been serious, my 8 yr old got stung the week before last in the pool at Bulli beach on the foot and back. Nasty little buggers they are
  17. Who was that????? Yes all in good time mate It will be a storm as in the way businesses market themselves to consumers, there is such a need out there for it and it overcomes just about every objection I have ever been given when selling ads in the print media. All very bloody exciting from where I'm sitting
  18. About 4 weeks ago I was contacted by a headhunting firm who were looking for people with a background in media and online advertising, now this wasn't the first time one of these firms approached me but there was something in about this time that I thought I had at least take a look. What they presented me was an absolute pearler of an opportunity so I though why not, well for the last few weeks I have been going through a very rigorous set of interviews, negotiations and competency assessments hence the fact I haven't been around on here for the last few weeks. The great news is that I nailed it and have just quit my job as a newspaper manager and start my new venture on the 2nd April and earn so much more money than I earn now it is ridiculous. For ages I have been looking for a way out of the print media industry and just couldn't find something to replace it had almost accepted that I should just stay doing it and out of the blue this comes along. It means a couple of years of really hard work to get myself established in the new role that at the moment is a big secret as this highly succesful US business is about to take Australia by storm and the exciting part is I get to ride it from day one. So while my fishing time may suffer and I wont get to tinker on the Val as much for the next year or so it's definately a big win for the family finances. I may just be able to budget for a new boat as well as finish my Val in the foreseeable future afterall. As the late great Bg Kev used to say i'm excited
  19. Great to see your up and about again mate, maybe give the kingys a rest mate and target something a little more sedate for the next few weeks.
