  1. First thing you need to know, what is the nearest VCP station, or what station you are going to call, they are all VMR. volunteer marine rescue. You squeeze the hand piece and say VMR then the name of station you are calling. I use trialbay. VMR trial bay, repeat it twice.then youtell them your number or boat name. release the trigger, and they will call you back. you then press the button, give them your name again, then the place you left from, how many onboard. the place you are going to fish and what time you will be going back in. If you change locations let them know by calling back in. Just sit in your boat and practice what I said and when you go out it will all come natural. you would be surprised how many blokes start to call in and when they answer they freeze up,forget what to say,the poor bloke at marine rescue has to calm them down. Just do what I said and you will have no worries. If your not sure on anything just PM me. cheers Rick.
  2. Hi Geoff, Mate at least you got a good feed of fish. My old navy mate from Broom has the same set up as that mobile home, no change out 350,000,His car comes out first then the boat is lowered on hydraulics. Cheers Rick.

    Afl Grand Final

They have been doing it this way for over a 100 years. There has been plenty of replays in grand final. Mcg won;t mind the ticket takings. Besides all the mexicans are sports fanatics.
  4. GIMLI. I could not have said it any better,He was the one and only crocodile hunter.
  5. G/Day Framedtrash, Mate if Gabe pm's you a price, could you do the same for me. Regards Rick.
  6. Hi Jeff, ALL THOSE REEL SERVO'S OUT THERE WON'T LIKE YOU. GREAT THREAD AND WELL EXPLAINED. YOUR DEAD RIGHT ABOUT GETTING THE THOUGHT IN YOUR HEAD.{CAN'T DO IT.} mOST KIDS {BOYS} WHEN i WAS GROWING UP USE TO PULL EVERYTHING APART TO SEE HOW IT WORKED.i STILL DO. REGARDS Rick. Sorry mate must have hit caps button.
  7. The tubes are old navy torpedo tubes, erected during ww2. As Yeeros said they are thinking about closing it,they are sick and tired of cleaning up all the stuff left by fishermen, many a time I have walked back with two garbage bags full.
  8. Is this suppose to be a trick question. or am I getting too old to see the funny side. If I bought a fish home to gut and gill the cheese and kisses would hit me right in the mouth with it. And I wouldn't blame her.
  9. Hi Cameldownunder, Sorry buddy I must have hit wrong tab, I meant CLR stands for calcium-rust-lime, made by advil in victoria. Magic stuff. Gerni is a pressure cleaner. Cheers Rick.
  10. Your dead right Garry I got half way down and thought they had the threads mixed up. I would hate to throw them a bone.
  11. I use SLR then hit it with the gerni,it removes stains completely on marine carpet and seat cushions.
  12. G/day Morgs, Your dead right about a nice part of the world,I fish about 60 k's south. You really need a mate that can fish, when your into trag, once you drop a couple, they are certainly gone, the only way to keep them there is make sure one always has bait on bottom, don't both come up together if you are dropping any. Anyway nice catch, that snapper had a head like he came from whyalla. Well done,I know you will certainly be back. Cheers Rick. P.S. If poddy Trapper sees this thread,he will be up next week.
  13. Mate if you head down to Jb and intend fishing the tubes, you need to take some serious gear as you catch some very big fish.If you go in holiday time forget it,the ledge will be covered by dawn. you can catch all your live bait, then rig with atleast 24kg line, use baloon livies will take bait out, then brace yourself. Drum and drumsticks is another good spot.all info you need ,can get at culburra bait shop, plus maps, just head out to lighthouse. Cheers Rick.

    What's This Hose?

Fester the little he is talking about is just bigger than your hose and has a small metal tube inside and your hose fits fairly snug once you push it on. cheers Rick.
  15. G/Day Josh, I had one of those little beauties years ago. Fantastic motor, The only prob's I had was what you are having all it took was replacing the primer bulb, some times I forgot to open breather. Mate last time we spoke did I tell you how to make a maltese cross with two matches. Cheers Rick.
  16. Hi again Phil, the stacer are a very good tin boat and there is a few around the 525 stage. regards Rick
  17. G/day Mack attack, before you start forking out big dollars, you want to find out which reel you can cast the best, egg beater, side cast or overhead, then you have to get rod to suit, low mount or high mount, myself it use to be overhead as I could cast either hand, you must have mates that beach fish. Just try casting their rig. Cheers Rick.
  18. Jamie if the line and bulb is fairly old, buy a new one, I always carry a spare, they are cheap as,then you will know for sure. cheers Rick.
  19. G/day, Stormy, I tried to join you blokes when I finally left navy seals. They told me I had to join police force then apply. Not likely was my reply,I would still be waiting. your right about some of those idiots with boats. your quote"obviously there is something not right with the motors"OWNER". cheers Rick.
  20. Hi Phil, You have got some good advice from Dhutchy and Jeff. Bayliner were the go back in 70's and 80's mainly on h/bury. with a bayliner you would need 4wd on most ramps. Mate I have a 4.5 nissan Patrol and it slips on some ramps, mine is only 5.5 fibreglass. Mate the choice is all up to you, being your first boat I would look for something smaller. Give huey a ring ,one of our sponsers, from huett marine,he is more insink with boats today than we are. cheers Rick.
