  1. well done Brett you get the cigar And a happy new year yo you
  2. I am another Shimano fan ,been down to the Caringbah wharehouse a few times only for minor stuff, the bloke in repairs is always happy to talk and usually fixes the reel on the spot and gives you a couple of tubes oil as well . Shinamo may not be cheap but with service and back up like this they sure are very good value
  3. Planed to fish for kings at Molineaux Point picked up 8 good sized yellowtail and anchored up just inside the point put the livies down sat there for about an hour not a touch , when the phone rings it Kikla [chris] who is fishing with Tun-o-fun [brett]he tells me they are down near Maroubra and are geting into the kings so away I go ,just as I get there I see chris hook up ,brett tells me they are taking pink skirted lures ,puts one out and get a instant hook up a quick measure 58cm back he goes start to troll again go about 20 metres and in again same thing about 56 cm all up i got 5 but you guesed it none over 58cm but still good fun A BIG THANKS TO BRETT& CHRIS FOR THE CALL no pics of the fish but one of Brett & Chris
  4. Great report great read thanks mate
  5. Went for a fish in the Bay this Morining S/Ps only bit of a late start ,perfect conditions but very slow went to Bonner Point good drift but still slow a couple of hits but no hookups, and then bingo a good soid hit and very strong fight thought it was lot bigger fish than it was, it went 70cm but felt a lot bigger ,not that I am complaining it was the high point of slow morning and after reading Screaminlines post I feel a bit depressed any way will give it another go tomorrow
  6. Thought I might try fishing C/C bridge with live yellow tail as I have had no luck with S/Ps, the only reliable place I know for yakkas is the container wall, long way to go and I was a bit late getting there anyway finally got 7 good sized ones and went back to the bridge, the drift very slow and not much action after acouple of hours all I had to show was 1 yakka bitten in half so I thought bugger this I will see if I can spin up some flatties at Bonner Point managed a couple of small fish then I got a good hit on the live yakka turned out to be a fair size flattie and that was it spent another 2 hours spining and draging a yakka for no result P/S can anybody tell me where there is a good place to get yakkas near the bridges
  7. Nice fish jewel us southen boys must stick together
  8. Hit the Bay saturday morning armed with a few tips from kevvie ,not very good conditions with a stiff noreaster and a few showers ,action was a bit slow tried a few drifts under C/C bridge no luck moved up into the bay , went up to groynes at Kurnell , 2nd drop Got a very solid hit and up comes a 63cm flathead , start to feel like it is going to be a good day worked the area for awhile a couple of bumps but no hook ups moved over to side of the first runway picked a trevaly about 30cm ,I had forgoten how hard they pull ,got a few hits and three small flathead, moved over to the groynes at Brighton picked up to 50 cm flathead and a few smaller fish and that was it back at the ramp around 11/30 all in all a pretty good morning P/S thanks again for those tips kevvie I with think with better conditions I would have done better will try and post a photo

    Which Sounder?

Joe I agree with Bluefin I have a Lowrance X107C/DF, the DF stands for duel frequency witch gives a good showing in deep and shalow water the Lorance has high a pixle count witch gives a crystal clear picture even in broad daylight . It also is very user frendly ,once you have seen color you will never go back to black & white .you should be able to pick one up for around the 900 to 950 mark I think they are good value for the money Hope this has helped you a bit, would be glad to give you a demo any time :1welcomeani:
  14. Australia 48 Posts Member No: #8155 Posted - 25 Sep 2005 : 06:59:43 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought I might try for aome snapper in Bate Bay but as got to the middle of tme Bay I was met with a stiff breeze from the south by the time I got to the north end of the bay it was blowing quite strong ,tryed to anchor over some of the spots I wanted to fish but between the wind and curent it was impossible ,so time for plan B, Went over to Simos reef in the mouth Bate Bay all iI got was under sized flathead ,moved out a reef called the middle ground in about 30 meters some divers turned up droped anchor and jumped in so I did a drift a bit wider ,heaps of small flathead just under legal but with odd good fish ,but I started to loose hooks ,I only had one wire droper rig put it on and started get leather jackets ,did 4 or 5 drifts and ended up with a good feed [PICTURE WILL NOT LOAD]
