  1. Hit the Bay this morning late start I waited to see what the weather was going to do by 7.30 it did not look to bad no wind and no rain so with Sunday and Monday looking pretty crook I thought I’m going , Got on the water at 8.15 tried the usual spots very quite ,expected some action after all the rain of the past week but the bay was pretty clean ,went to Bonner Point ,the wind by this time had dropped and the bay was almost glassy but the flathead did not want to play got 2 small ones and a squid ,tried a couple of other spots and got a nice flatty off Towra Point and 2 smaller ones .Thought I might troll the squid around Captain Cook bridge and see if there was any jew around but no luck , it was 11 am by now and starting to rain so I called it a day it was very quite but still it was great to get out on the water

  9. Hit the Bay this morning 6am start , the conditions were pretty good a bit cold and a light breeze from the south west and a run out tide ,thought I would try a new spot for some reddies and bream ,the reddies were there but on the small size 24 to 29cm any way managed to 3 over 35cm and couple of trevally around 8am the wind started to swing around to the south east and get stronger ,so I thought would move back down into the Bay and have a spin for flathead I started at Tower Point as it was a bit protected from the wind which was starting howl after about 10 minutes I landed 3 small flathead and was just about to call it a day when I got a good hit it did not feel like a flathead ,mabe a tailor it turned out to be a good bream and PB on s/ps for me , the wind was blowing really hard now so I called it a day I am still finding it hard to the flathead

  11. Fished Botany Bay this morning bit of a late start left the ramp just on first light by the time I got to the spot the sun was just starting to rise conditions where great with a light south westerly and a run in tide the reddies were on the straight away hitting the pillchards hard but as the sun got higher the bites became more tentative and I missed a lot of hits , I started to leave the bail arm open and let the fish run before striking this seemed to work got a lot of small reddies about 28 cm anyway the best reddie went 36 cm, in between the reddies a few tevally and a flattie turned up all in all not a bad morning ,left there and went for a spin 2 hours later all I had was 3 under sized flathead WHERE ARE THE FLATHEAD is anybody getting any

  14. Went for a fish in the bay this morning ,I had planned to be on the spot at first light but I was about an hour late ,anyway first bait got hit almost straight away and the fish came within 5 minutes of each other , I had 2 rods out but all the fish came on the one rod the only differance was one had blue line on it the other had grey line [mono] the grey line did all the damage ended up with 4 snapper the best was 36cm down to 32cm also got 3 or 4 just on or under 30cm , also got 2 bream around the same size ,by now the sun was up and he small snapper and bream moved in .time to leave and spin up some flathead , spent 2 hours spinning for 2 under sized flathead Do not know what is going on with the flathead is anyboby getting any Still a good morning on the BAY how lucky are we

  21. Hit the Bay again today ,the plan was try for snapper early and spin for flathead later but the plan did not work out with a run in tide and westerly wind made snapper fishing almost impossible I persisted for a couple of hours got a few short runs but no hook ups, time for plan B went over to Brighton in close it was nice there out of the wind got a couple of hits but they felt like small fish moved out a bit and got fish straight away the first fish was to be the best fish of the day a flattie of about 62 cm witch I released, over the next hour or so I got 5 more from 58cm to 48cm So all in all turned out to be a good morning Looks like the Flathead might be on the way back The lure that did the most damage was squidgy golden eye Second best was gulp blood worm
