  13. Well done mate you can't do any better than a SEAFARER
  14. Went out to chase the elusive king fish sick of hearing that the only place to catch kings is the Sydney Harbour , The weather was supposed to be howling from the north east and it did blow a bit in the morning but by about 9am it was quite pleasant and very fishable the fish were on the bite from the time we arrived ,Although a lot of them were under sized but most were over 60cm we kept 2 my best was 77cm and my mates 75cm lost count of how many we caught but some were between 10 and 15 and got done by some fish that I could not stop on 40 lb braid all fish were taken the troll either on live yellow tail or dead garfish ,and all fish within site of the oil wharf at in the mouth Botany Bay I have posted some pics one is my fish and the others are fish that were caught by some mates at the same spot the best went 92cm All in all it was a great day and I must say I had forgotten how hard a good KING can pull
  15. Went for a fish in Botany Bay this morning it was a bit overcast and rain was predicted but I thought bugger it I’ll go any way as it turned out it just got better and better buy 8am the breeze from the south had dropped and the Bay was glassy smooth ,but back to the fishing as I was spinning for flathead it was pretty slow got a couple of small flatties and 2 nummrays as the tide started to run I got a few good hits but no hook-ups but about 9am I got a solid hit and it held at I first thought it was another ray but after some solid runs and some head shakes I knew it was a pretty good flattie it turned out to be a 65cm fish in top condition but it was on it’s own spent another hour after that and never got another hit ,but anyway it was a very pleasant way to spend Sunday morning
  16. Welcome to the site nicat those salmon are great fun on light gear I was in Yarra Bay on monday I saw the splashes and the birds working and I thought the were tailer flicked out a soft plastic and spent the next 10 minutes wondering how long my 2lkilo leader would last i managed to land 3 before they sounded
  17. Picked up the new rod and reel from fellow raider Tricky [swap&sell]on Thursday so I thought I give it a test on the Bay the conditions were great but the fishing was slow I was spinning for flathead went to all the usual spots all i managed was 2 rays and 2 small flattys, the wind was starting blow from the south west and getting stronger and the drift was very quick , put out the sea anchor and made the difference I got 2 nice fish in half hour one went 56cm and the other 63cm it was about 10/30 and the wind was howling so called it a day I have found flathead spinning in the Bay very hard going recently It might be just me is anybody else doing any good ????????????????
  18. Well done mate good report and a good read
  19. Danilo I like you perssistance and the song maybe a bit of boat fishing might change your luck let me know when you have some time and we can arrange a trip around the Botany Bay area can’t give you any guarantees ,but who knows there might be a song in it P/S week days no prob
  20. Decided to try the flathead in Bate Bay,left the ramp at 6.30am conditions looked good until we got to the mouth of the port .it was blowing a pretty hard from the northwest anyway we got out to the 35meters out from Osbourne Shoals but the wind made the drift to quick and we could not keep the baits on the bottom so moved in closer to the beach inside Mary’s reef caught a few small flattys ,after about an hour the wind started to ease so we went back out to the 35meters and put out the sea anchor witch slowed the drift we caught fish straight away but they were small or just legal but as got further out the 40 to 50 meters the got bigger from 34 to 50 cm then we struck the leather jackets lost 4 rigs before we landed any ,we changed position and got back to the flathead we kept 20 and threw back at least the same number also 3 monster leatherjackets So it turned out to be a good morning
  21. the boat went very good I am very happy with it , Pete are you going to presentation night
