  1. Here is a pic of my new boat allready to get out there and get amongst it all. Thanks to swordfisherman we took her for a test drive and I bought her on the spot.. When I got home and did the bearings from scratch. I noticed that the brakes were not working. Being a trailer from the USA this was not going to be straight forward as usual. The bearings were the first challenge as they are not your normal Holden or Ford either. Soon to Google and I found a supplier for the lot. The brake system had to be replaced from front to back completely including the coupling as well.Got all that done and added a support frame under the pod.. Then got her blessed and a name added. Cleaned her all up, and here she is..heading Easter weather permitting. Then up to the Entrance for the social. Seeing as she is around a 7.5m, I figured I better get a new tow vechical as well... So here they are

  3. My last day fishing was looking a bit misserable but I knew that it would only bring on the fish..We were going out to target the black marlin again but as we headed out things weren't looking the best. We worked the currents and did all the normal things like looking for birds, then we saw a great site........ A massive boil up of Yellow fin.. The first pass we had on the boat 2 good strip tuna, and 2 very nice yellow fin. Lines in again, and away we go... a few more skip jacks and then that sound that everyone craves for ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. 1 very big run. After 1 hour10min we get a very big YF tuna boat side guesses were around the 65kg mark and BANG.. The leader snapped at the lure. No time to cry about it lets get back into into it... Birds have seemed to dissapear but we found schools busting up, so a few more 10kg YF and skip jacks and then we worked the currents. Excitment builds as we see a fish come up and make a strike. Quad druple hook up 4 lines go off and we have a mixed bag of 1 YF, 2 mahi mahi and a very nice Waa hoo. The fight was one for a while then the lines crossed and we lost the mahi mahi, then the other one.. Lost the waa hoo at the boat, landed the YF. We continued tildark and managed some great 40 to 50 kg YF with a total of 22 fish for the afternoon. Please enjoy the pics..

Not sure on actual age of Hull but it was a half cabin originaly and the previous owner stripped her back to bare bones and added a pod, and the center console. new floor, new ballast etc, new transom. So basiclly she is a total rebuild from the ground up only 3 years ago.. and since the rebuild she has tagged 32 marlin off sydney .. So I am pumped

Swordie and the misses, Donna are such good people and can be called on at anytime for advice and help. Thanks to Stewie for coming with me to test and look at my new boat the other week I now own a great centrer console..
  7. Once again Im here in FIJI staying at the Warwick resort & Spa on the coral coast. This year has been one of the best years yet. I have come to Fiji every year for the past 7 years for my anniversary. We have great friends here in Fiji that look after us very well, not to mention the great times I have fishing. I do a minimum of 4 half day charters when I am in Fiji, and fish the Benga lagoon area as well as around the islands of Yanuca and Vatalele. The locals consider me to be very lucky when it comes to fishing as, I seem to get good fish and this time it was. This time of yer the weather can be a bit harsh but the rain can work to your advantage as well. the chop and bigger swells this year as also made the fishing alot better. So in brief here is an idea of my time here in Fiji and I will add more pics and more stories when I return home next week.. Water temp avg: 24 to 28 deg Swell: varied from 1m in the morning to 3m in the afternoon when the chop, wind and rain picked up about 3pm. Catches included: Spanish mackrell, yellow fin, strip tuna (skip Jack), Waa Hoo, Mahi Mahi.....All these were caught trolling with skirted lures And the most exciting for me this year which are out of season this time of year............ Yesterday we went ...................5-3-2 on Black Marlin... (Sorry no pics camera went flat) I took the family that were with us for a short time to a island for lunch and on the way home put in a line chasing some yellow fin to try and give them their first tuna, which also included my wife"s first tuna.... The fin were going off and we managed to get 6 good fin when one of the girls screamed ..........."SHARK" I loked backed and saw the fin that makes dreams come true and I mad the call. Next thing we had a double hook up on Black marlin to kick off the after noon...After some good areials we dropped the first, but managed the second. We were so wrapped and excited, it swept the boat. Thinking that this was it and with a storm comming we would head for home......As we reeled in to make a dash back to the resort. We were on again.... So I am heading out again tomorrow with the locals I go with and targeting the marlin I hoped to have the camera charged and get some great pics for the next report... Please enjoy
