  1. raiders were now doing shotgun poles fully rigged and ready to use.we will custom make any base insert you require, the poles are 3 meters long in fibreglass or carbon fibre line guilds and spear in either 316 stainless mirror polished or black nylon.rocket launcher insert 316 stainless pick up price $150.00 delivery in sydney metro free cheers gary
  2. the soap is white sunlight soap i think it has fat in it you can use a yabby trap for shrimp or a bucket with weight in it and reeds in it to stop the shrimp jumping out when you lift in out off the water as for yabbys the quickest way to catch them is 5 hand lines around a dam you get a stick tye 2 meters off line to it and stick it in the bank at water level for bait liver, kidney, heart work well you don't need a hook throw the bait out and leave a small sag in the line now the hard bit when you see the line going tight you have a yabby slowly pull it in and when he is close put a prawning scoop net behind him keep slowly pulling the line in they let go and swim straight into the net 5 lines will keep one person busy and you should have your bait and a good feed in 2 hours cheers gary

  4. i have been very lazy off late and not willing to get out off bed at 4.00am but with a report off kings firing at the peak we had a plan for Tuesday, hit the water at 5.30 straight to the yakka grounds to get live bait out goes the minced pilly burly and had the tank full in 30 minutes and to my shock we had kings buzzing the yakkas as we caught them they wouldn't take a yakka but would buzz them mmmmmmmmmmm we tried everything but the only thing the kings would eat was pilly fillets with a black fish hook on bait catching gear we had a ball and some very short fights zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ping time was getting away and i wonted to be at the peak before high tide, well we were boat number 14 by the time we got there wind and currant raging anyway we joined the line up did a few drops with the motor in reverse mate hooks up and drops a good one bugger the drift was a pain so the plan was i try to hold position over the kings and old mate jigs Neil hooked up big time and gets smashed on 80lb braid I was on the deck laughing my head off he had smacked his hand on the gunnel 2 times trying to get this king off the deck and got dusted big time watching a good mate have a full tany is golden my turn to jig by the way i hate jigging as my stuffed shoulder is only good for 20 min then it packs it in 4 or 5 drifts later and i say drifts because old mate could not hold position to save his life i hook up good start to the fight few runs and i have him well off the deck pump wind pump wind half way up and I'm a little bit disappointed and call it for a just legal first show off colour wtf that's not a king when it surfaces I'm in shock with a good snapper in the net we did a few more runs with live bait and squid for zip headed home with a grin and snapper for dinner for the next few nights the snapper was a tad under 5kg cheers gary
  5. with reports off fin down eden way early last week and the good weather off sydney mon tues wed i feel a big three day effort is required i'll be out there lol cheers gary
  6. i'm looking at aluminium trailers for my 5 meter savage and there around $3800.00
  7. i need a new one as well maybe we could do a deal with one off the supplyers and get all 3 at a good price what do you think cheers gary
  8. this is how we rig taglines note the rubber balls at the very top is to stop you pulling the release clip into the top pulley block second ball is to stop the tagline return hitting the release clip and the bottom ball is to stop the tagline return hitting the pulley block on the shock cord there are many ways to rig outriggers we do it like this so everything can be removed and more so, so you can remove the taglines when your skip baiting cheers gary ps i tried to post a larger diagram but with no luck
  9. generally you use a rubber band on your line and into the clip some people like the rubber band to fall off after the strike but i prefer to choke the rubber band on the line i have found when you have to clear the spread it makes it much quicker to reset the spread the rubber band is to stop you getting a kink in your mainline from the release clip so you only need a rubber band that will not snap with the weight off your lure its a fine line you wont it to snap easily but not with out it getting hit larger lure will need larger rubber bands or two smaller ones cheers gary
  10. the best thing with tag lines other than eliminating drop back is you don't have to pull your rigging up the outrigger pole every time you hook up and re rig we sell everything to do with outriggers get used to the release clips then when your ready you can add tag lines later i will add a diagram later on our method off rigging tag lines so there removable for when your skip baiting cheers Gary outriggers direct
  11. raiders just a heads up we have only 3 complete sets off outriggers left in stock, with new stock arriving early may cheers gary
  12. well done david your first is something special and being a blue makes it very special cheers gary
  13. mmmmmmm for 2500 you maybe pick up a bargain but you could also pick up a black hole for money check out the trailer for rust everything else can be fixed the boat well check the ass end is not soft stand on the motor and look for flex in the transom get under the dash and look for cracks were the dash meets the hull for 2500 i would properly assume the motor is crap but you never know get it checked and ask for the last service details eg when was the impela changed if the impela is stuffed it could well be fouling the cooling system 2500 is a very cheap budget and there is a saying you only get what you pay for i could be wrong but at the end off the day you just want to go fishing with the family with no hassles i was in your shoes many moons ago with an old boat and it cost me thousands i finally bit the bullet and got a new motor then a new boat personally i would use the 2500 as a deposit on a new tinny then you would have years off hassle free fun with the family with no problems sorry for being the bearer of bad news cheers gary

  22. hey fellow raiders with all our bad luck in the last few trips chasing marlin we set a new plan it was to have some fun the plan;;;pick up 15 yakkas ,head straight to botany bay wide fad for a feed off dolly's troll the shelf to monavale head to the long reef fad and drift back the Sydney heads for sharks we left my house at 3.30am got fuel and were in the water at trunks by 4.00am picked up our yakkas and had a Coffey then started the run to the fad came across so great looking water in 70 fathoms with currant lines everywhere it was really had for me to not set the spread. kept motoring out to the fad but we had a plan and i stuck to it we were first to the fad almost with only one other boat there we motored up to the fad and cleared the chartpotter tracks and drifted away 50 meters to mark the best drift run,set the courser on the plotter 50 meters on the up side of the fad and set-up for our first drift, two lives out one in close and one long well over the next few hours we had a ball with a dolly a drift all around 600 to 750 we were fishing light and having a great time with high tide coming and only 3 yakkas left we started to burly big-time for the last few drifts i will mention lots off boats had come and gone and we now had two big game boats sitting on the fad witch made it harder to do our drift but to there credit they did move sideways as we drifted past the fad our next drift was a double hook up with one dolly jumping and the other rod just started to scream we looked at each other o crap were in trouble big time through back the small dolly and started the chase well 15 minutes later we had a big cow on the jump and most off the line back a great gaff shot and i had my biggest dolly to date on the deck o and i didn't mention it was poring with rain the whole fight and we were both looking like drowned rats with big cheesy grins we did a few more drifts for more dolly's and gave the trolling and shark fishing a miss and headed home had a great day with a good mate with a tone off fun we kept 4 dolly's at 75cm and the big girl cheers Gary
