  10. mmmmmmmm thats a tricky one i would first get the bait board to the hight and position you really like then get a section folded in aluminium or stainless and mount it inside the wash well but as prev.said tilt the donk up and check for clearance a neat section folded like a channel with tappered ends will hide the fastning points and look flash and when the bait board is removed you have two more rod holders for trolling i have two straight rod holders with backing plates all they need is to be polished you can have them for free the section you need to get folded will have to be done by a sheet metal workshop in stainless 3mm would be fine aluminium proberly 5mm ps marine grade aluminium and 316 stainless or powder coated or two pack paint after etch priming also to help the sheety make a full size template in card board so he gets the angle right hope this helps cheers gary
  11. make the inlet 20 mm short off the bottom of your hull and use a peace off heavey duty air hose with a 45 degree angle cut at the bottom fix the hose to your inlet pipe and face the 45 forward.this will stop damage when hitting floatys cheers gary
  12. very sorry for your loss to steel a boat like this with the locks on you would think they needed a tilt tray tow truck were there drag marks from the trailer wheels now i know it's the polices job but its hard to drive on sydney roads nowdays with out being caught on camera a runaround to all the local shops in your area might shed some light on the bandit you only need a rego plate number proberly a long shot but worth a try cheers gary
  13. my old man sprayed his with fish oil now it looks like crap but it has not rusted cheers gary
  14. only 55 i would have picked you to be much older hahahahahaa have a great day stewy cheers gary
  15. as a general rule 6 inch rsj or ub will hold 1 tonne this is an underestimate check to see if its an rsj [rolled steel joice] the fanges will be tappered or a ub [universal beam]the flanges will be flat this is very important as the trolly will either have to have tappered wheels or flat wheels.most support ub's are between 250 and 400 more than you will ever need unless your going to pick up a truck the bigger question is whats holding up the beams proberly brick colums now this could be a consern with a swinging load over 1 tonne as the beams are proberly just sitting on the brick cheers gary

  22. kmart or any good tackle shop bloodworms are also a great bait there are plenty off whiting were you pump nippers that would be inside the beach on the sand flats pump the nipper near the walk bridge on the edge off the creek move around till you find a good patch you should get two nippers per hole even pump in the water just look for two small holes good luck cheers gary
  23. if you going to bundeena take a yabby pump get some nippers and then fish were you pumped them at high tide cheers gary
  24. if your trolling in the next few months use wire trace about two feet long there are reports off spanyards in close and the wahoo will be on the cards also for marlin you need 6 feet off 150 lb mono leader min i use 400lb mono leader for marlin cheers gary
  25. unless there straight up and down the hole needs to be oval shaped drill a hole with a hole saw the o.d. off your rod holder and then using a bur make the hole oval a easy way to do this is make a template off the under side off the rod holder do a little at a time now the important part prime and paint the area or salt will get under the paint and bubble it up to be honest why would you use a plastic rod holder there are good cast stainless and aluminium rod holders out there for around 40.00if your ever going to run a down rigger plastic will not handle it and stainless or aluminium will need a backing plate good luck cheers gary
