1. well its all done what a pain in the ass next time i'll pay someone else to do it i'd rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp object than go through that crap again trung next time we go fishing bring the paper bag with the sandra sultry pic on it dan its getting closer to marlin time send me your phone number grant i miss you bream shirt you look so good in it RAY I STILL HAVE YOUR BOTTLE OFF SCOTCH i did smack a ltr off jd a few weeks ago i was one sick little lad the next day cheers lads gary

 3. the out let is crap to many ass holes fish there the inlet is a red hot blue nose bream spot a night time spot.you need live nippers or blood worms or better still live prawns nippers dipped in tuna oil is the top bait cut a coke can lid off and dip the nippers in just before you cast out the rig use a small split shot about a meter up from the hook cast out and retreave fast enough to keep it just off the bottom hit the deck and you get snagged the fish are actuly under your feet but you need to cast out to get the bait in the right spot and depth this can be a hard spot to fish but if you use the method above with a little practice you will brain it with blue nose bream over40cm common stay behind the hand rails because if you go for a swim your dead i hav'nt fished dora for 10 years so you may not even be able to fish there any more good luck and i look forward to a report cheers gary
 4. as mentioned you need a stainless or heavey duty aluminium rod holder you also need a backing plate on the under side off the rod holder because most factory fitted rod holders are held in with screws not strong at all they need to be bolted in with counter sunk stainless bolts with nylock nut and washers we used to make stainless rod holder (i think i have a few left} but there are plenty off good ones on the market and we can't compeat with the price now the mount;we still make the mounts that slip into rod holders you have to work out weather your going to run the downrigger out the back or out the side i have even made a few with a mount that goes back towards the cab with a rod holder passing through the mount plate so your rod is facing the rear now just a note if your going to drag hoodys away from structure with locked up reels the mount on most down riggers will fail and you loose everything my two are mounted out the sides and i've snapped the rod holder off one on a meter plus king in sydney cheers gary
 5. i have a 5 meter cuddy cab savage scorpion and this is how it has to be for me to head out also i have clears and a bimini swell max 1.5 wind 10kn or less wave pulse 8 second but more is better note it can all change in seconds and i never head out if there is bad weather coming from the west a change in the wind can chop it up real quick if the wind is going to be over 15kn at say 12.00pm i'm in or close to being in by 11.00 hope this helps and i'm shore more people will add to this cheers gary

 13. went out sunday with fellow raider trung with the plan for a marlin troll ,after last weeks effort the hopes weren't to high with the weather looking right we headed to the 12 mile for a jig for 1 lether jacket jagged in the head then set the spread and headed to the shelf water looked good and temp had good patches off 23.5 we headed north along the shelf we got to long reef then set the plotter for the marlin marks i've had luck with over the last 3 years about 2 km inside the shelf all hell broke loose on the short corner trunk was quick and the screem was marlin rushed to get the spread in but only managed to retreve the teeser and the call was i'm gunna get spooled time to chase we got back a bit off line and i got the rest off the spread in this was a big marlin for us with plenty off air work i only saw one jump as i was to busy driving but the size off the head it looked well over 160kg and i new we were in way over our heads and truely under gunned well you all know how this ended so i'll spair you the details but we lost the blue and the sentblazer lure but trung was grinning ear to ear and my heart was trying it's best to jump out my chest what a rush rampaging blue i've bagged two blues before on big game boats with big reels but this was trungs first hookup on a marlin so i was very happy for him to not only see a blue but hookup and have a good fight with plenty off jumps well done mate your now stung with the marlin bug this looks like a cracker off marlin season coming raiders so get out there and do the k's cheers gary

 20. well its hard to find the right words to discribe weipa mind blowing i think comes close it's something everyone should do ,i'll be doing this trip at least once a year the fishing is the best i've ever had

the lads;;;;;stewy;;i realy got to know stewy on this trip i was not prepaired tackle wise and stewy helped me out lending me one off his top outfits for the river and creek fishing,we had plenty off time to become good mates with the shark fishing at night, stewy doing all the hard work fighting the sharks and me tracing the sharks to pop the trace for them to swim free e.g.100lb trace

grant;did all the cooking of fish,i'll never buy fish again as we were eating fish every night with 4 types on the menu most nights ,all the skill of a sue chef and what a feed

dan the man;;;dan is one off the best fishermen i have seen and a pleasure to watch with pin point acuracy dan kept us in fresh fish and his skill with the blade doing sushi and the mayo and lime, chilly sauses he made well i was licking the bowel truely amazing mate

trung;;; trung should be a stand up comic you had me in tears many times

rayman;;deaf as a post i fished with ray most days two deaf old fellas in a polly, mate you put me onto some great fish with the highlight being a spanish mac and a 1005mm queeny at the 3mile it took us a while to workout how to fish the 3 mile being only 20 meters deep and scattered reef, find the bait and drop small cromes down and wind fast we lost more fish than we caught to bull sharks and some unstopable runs back to the reef

the bull sharks at the 3 mile the biggest sharks i have seen man there scary and they follow you around with many a long tail lost to these beasts they show up in numbers as soon as you catch fish and as we were advised don't play silly buggers with the bullys they will rip you to sheads in seconds

i could go on for pages about weipa but words are just not good as to discribe how insain the place is fishing wise just go there and you will be blown away

i would just like to thank rayman for organising the best fishing trip off my life;stewy, grant and dan for all your help with knots and tackle, stewy even lent me a clean pair off shorts for the trip home

i went fishing with 5 people and came home with 5 top mates and the memorys to last a lifetime thank you all so much

just a note weipa is a very wild spot and i advise go with someone who knows the place we were lucky as ray and grant have been there before there are very few markers and the sand banks move around and many unseen reefs just feet out off sight with crocs and sharks ever present you would be lucky to last a minute in the drink

cheers gary

 23. i know how this is playing on your mind my first boat had the same drama not a sealed hull but 3 eskys off water after one trip freaked me out if it would help you can bring the boat to silverwater and i'll help you test it, it should only take 2 hours on a saturday your call mate but the offer is there cheers gary
 24. i feel your pain hears what to do you need a compresser and a spray bottle with 4 parts water and one part dishwashing liquide now hears the important part you need to presserise the hull but be CARFULL!!!!!!!!! get a mate to wedge the air hose in the hole with a wet rag and no more than 5 psi or you could pop the hull spray all over the hull and floor with the spray bottle and look for bubbles a small leak will foam up you can spray as many times as you like and foam[small bubbles will apear] this is how we check fuel tanks for leaks i can't stress how important it is to not seal the air hose in the hole i have seen an aluminium truck fuel tank pop an end off and break the dills arm that was testing it good luck cheers gary
 25. sorry 4.5 mm is as long as we have in stock and the base o.d. is 39.5 mm cheers gary
