  7. as mentioned above gars are a great bait on gang hooks if your fishing for tailor or kings slow retrieved in the washes but for trolling there are 3 or 4 options do a google search type rigging a ballyhoo or ballyhoo rig cheers gary
  8. just a heads up raiders with the warm water pushing in close this weekend might just go off big time and with the run off small blacks we could be in for a record number off fish caught off sydney i know everything could well change through the week but the swell pulse and currants all look good my only problem is i will be up the coast looking after my dad for four days good luck everyone cheers gary
  9. i don;t have a problem with anyone catching or killing sharks thats fishing and to be honest i always carry shark traces he may well off had a few kings sharked and if it had happened to me i would off started shark fishing as well but and its a big but to have a 50 tiaga handy is a bit rich for the harbour unless you hunting sharks and still over kill but i will say from personal experience if the media can't get all the facts or the story is a bit dull they will make up all sorts off bs cheers gary
  10. billy for the rest off the year were skipping gars or slow trolling live small macs hope this works cheers gary

  16. hey raiders getting ready for the marlin run ,checking the boat[needed two new batterys ]trailer needed [new wheel bearings] and greased up the jocky wheel, checked the flares were not out off date then i checked the eperb bugger the battery was out off date rang around and found out to get the battery changed by gme would set me back 270.00 and they would check the hole unit it would take 2 weeks, i could have changed the battery my self but not the components easy i thought just get a new one, rang around and no one had the model i needed then i gave roadrunner parts a ring and ian said he could get one in for me so a big thank you to road runner parts for the quick supply off the unit i needed now every thing is ready for my marlin chasing up and down the coast cheers gary

  18. big effort solo well done something you will remember for the rest off your life cheers gary
  19. mmmmm that sux i would cut the whole section out and replace it what you can see with the pitting is only half the problem the whole area is corroded if you get the holes welded a pin hole turns into a hole the size off a 10 cent peace but having said that and being short off coin a patch job may work for a while i would just be a bit worryed about how sound the ass end is cheers gary

  21. i havn,t read byrons post but knowing him well it would be a long read lol one thing i will say is a rapid rise or fall can really bring on a feeding frenzy one example off this was trolling for bonito around the gap and south we were picking up the odd one hear and there and a storm hit with lightning the fish went nutts for a good half hour when i got home i checked the bp and there was a sharp drop right on the hot bight just an example cheers gary
