  1. It does mate, i'll send you a PM with some sites and ad which might get you started
  2. Hi mate I personally think the 455 escape is a great boat, it's the same shape/very similar to a more modern 455/460 coast runner. Considering the boat is in good condition that is a good price, BUT, the 40hp will be underpowered, with 3 or 4 people you would find it hard to plane. By yourself i'm sure it'll be okay, just some food for thought. Look at a few boats, open, runabouts etc for under 10k, look up and find what suits you best !
  3. Haha, thanks mate, i try my best, most of my camera work is done just by myself with a tripod ! For livebait i used whitebait. If you are in a little bay or estuary or creek, you can berley them up and use tiny hooks and floats to catch them.. i use 4lb fluro to a float to one Mustad Needle Check size 12 hook (really small) with a tiny bit of peeled prawn (they rid bread off to easy)
  4. Mate can't beat a yammy 2 stroke, great motor
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys can't wait for these damn P's !
  6. Windangs full of undersized whiting and all the Flathead in there at 35cm i swear haha, unlucky because they're Dusky Flathead and you have to let them go. The 50cm are great fillets
  7. Welcome to fishing, well done on those fish, good sized bream too ! i haven't gotten one that size in a long time so you are doing better then i am Soft plastics are good and really addictive, you'll have packets loads before you know it Goodluck with your fishing
  8. Sometimes i like to fish whole Prawns sometimes i don't. When the fish are being picky and not touching a whole prawn or the guts are getting sucked out of the prawn and only coming up with the shell i like to take the head off the prawn, take the tail off, and take the shell off and peel it that way
  9. 100hp Yammy Four Strokes great, 90hp etec is great too, shop around and see the best price you can get
  10. Hi mate, congrats on the boat ! To answer some of your questions - Good places around Sydney for tinnys are Port Hacking, Hawkesbury River, and if you don't mind the drive down the coast, Windang is a great spot. I'd stick to bait fishing in slat for the best chance of catching something for the kids, if you use prawns you can catch just about everything in the sea. Find some sand and use prawns and you'll be hookng bream, whiting, Flathead and all. I'd limit the trips for about 4 - 5 hours maybe. It just depends on how the kids feel. Being in a tinny might make them want to move around after being stuck so go to a sandbar and fish of that for a little while They can drive the boat a long as you keep an eye on them and are in the boat and they don't go over 8 knots (i doubt the tinny with a 5hp will go over 8 knots with 3 people in it, so it should be all good) I'd take lollies (sugar haha) the chips favorite type, chips, soft drink in an esky with ice and some plastic cups For tackle i'd take 3 light rods, some different sized light sinkers, a couple of swivels, size 8 long shank for whiting and size 2/4 for Flathead and just about everything else ! I'm in a rush atm mate so if you need anymore answers i'll be back in just over an hour, so just let me know and i'll help you out as much as i can Goodluck
  11. Some people are unbelievable, they knew what type of shark it was, like there were gonna be fishing inside with heavy leaders and big hooks, you can't catch something like that on 2-4kg rod, 10lb line and a flathead hook
  12. Anywhere in Australia, each area has it's own 3 targeted fish species, you fish on the day with the number they send you via email in the morning, and take photos with the number and the fish you catch on the bragmat they provide when you enter, you then email the photo of your biggest fish from the day to them
  13. Landbased and boatbased mate.. I've signed up can't wait
  14. Look around and look at other brands with boats around the same size I paid slightly over 15k for my 2005 Ally Craft with a 60HP Yammy Four Stroke, only 60 hours on the clock and in great condition
  15. Looks yum mate wouldn't mind trying that myself
  16. Perfect story and a great catch, well done mate
  17. Hi boat, i got all my fish from a boat but there are many great landbased spots all over Windang. You try try a peice of shoreline along Oakland Ave, i always see people fishing along this section of the channel. Just be careful as the current can really get strong around here ! the tide turn is best here from high to low. I have caught fish in that channel from my boat so i know you'd get em landbased Goodluck and post up any reports

  20. Hey Guys, i fished the Flathead Classic today on Lake Illawarra. With an hour drive starting at 4AM and driving through nothing but rain, rain and rain, the day was not off to a good start. As Me and my dad launched the boat the weather was starting to look good. The clouds were clearing and it looked like the sun was going to come out. About 30 minutes into fishing it started raining really hard and it was really uncomfortable fishing only sitting under a bimini. I felt sorry for the guys in open boats! On the sandbar we noticed a bird that appeared to be stuck on fishing line. Unbelievable that it was just left there! If the tide came up the poor thing would of drowned. Me and my dad pulled up and cut the line off the bird and let it free. A good deed i thought would give me or my dad a decent fish in return haha. Early on about an hour into fishing we had 2 Flathead measured, recorded and released just to keep them out of the live bait tank. It's not really suited to holding live Flathead. The fish went 42cm and 37cm. I knew this was no were near enough to win the comp but it was something on the board. Back out on my old favorite spot in the Lake and first cast on the plastics i had a Flathead in the tank again, 37cm! not bad not bad. Drifted around for a while and the rain just kept coming. It was really hard going because it was just so uncomfortable, but we kept at it! I had a good run on my Live Poddy Mullet and it turned out to be a 25cm Bream, abit small so back in the drink he went. After another hour passed with only undersized Flathead coming in the boat i had another decent run on my Live Poddy. It turned out to be my best Bream for the year! 31cm. Not the fish we were after but nice none the less. We got another Flathead going 35cm one cm undersized back in the drink it went and i wanted to head in. It was 11:30 near the final measure in time so me and my dad went back to the boat ramp to put the boat on the trailer and measure our Flattie in. While dad was getting the car he hit the gutter and got a flat tire! just our bloody luck. He was alright changing it himself so i kept drifting the channel for 20 minutes fishing. On my first drop to the bottom with the last Poddy Mullet i got a bloody 44cm Flathead, our best for the day 2 minutes from the boat ramp, damn it! should of stayed here all along. Dropped a prawn to the bottom 2 minutes later after getting the Flattie in the tank and within 30 seconds i was on again. This time it was a 27cm Whiting. Now i really wished i stayed here all day haha. The 20 minutes passed and my dad had the tire changed and the trailer in the water. We got the boat up and went to measure the Flathead in and found out that we missed measure in time, how is that for luck! Oh well, it doesn't bother me. This just meant we kept the fish for a feed. The fish i caught last monday have already been eaten. I've got a craving for Flathead and Whiting and well, i'm having Flathead and Whiting tomorrow night without a doubt. All in all, a good day out even with all the bad luck, fishing is fishing, i love it and i will be back
  21. Bayhunter. My dads mate had a Stessco Skipper 420 with a 30hp Suzuki and we had our a 460 Ally Craft Bay Raider with a 60hp Yammy on the back out for a trip one day. We both had 3 people in each boat and the weight was about the same and our boat planed easily and got along great while his boat really had a hard time. The boat barely planed. He ended up selling the boat 6 months later after buying it new for 18k with all the goodies and bought a 469 Stacer Baymaster with a 75hp Merc and he has never been happier. Also with the Bayhunter you'll have a pod which makes a big difference, the room inside the boat is so much better, it's more stable and you really enjoy fishing out of it. From memory the 30hp Suzuki only has 2 cylinders and doesn't run anywhere near as smooth as the 3 cylinder Yammy. My boat isn't as big as the Bayhunter and doesn't have as much power on the back and we wouldn't trade it for the world ! perfect sized boat if you are taking some people out. If you have any questions just ask mate. The good thing about boats is you don't lose out on them, if you don't like the boat a few months later you could sell it for almost the same amount you paid for it. Just my 2 cents Cheers and goodluck with the boat hunting
  22. My dad has never really liked the brakes that much and would be happier with the cheaper repo and not having to get them checked every year. I think i might give this a go ! i think my boat would weigh under 750kg complete package anyway, but i'll find out Thanks for your help guys
