  1. Charging it up fully then draining it to about 10% (not fully), re-charging and draining (10%) with no charing in the middle is the best way to keep the battery good on an iPod touch i've found, don't use it while charging or always leave it on charge as this is bad for the battery Turn your brightness down, turn WIFI and bluetooth off when not being used, that saves alot of battery, oh and the biggest one is the app switcher, which is accessed by double clicking the home button, it pulls up a bar with apps in it (used for switching between apps when playing games/texting/music) make sure all apps not being used are clear from this ! it's using ram just sitting there and using your battery, i'm so surprised at how many people don't know about app switching.. to delete an app from the app switcher just hold down on it until the app wiggle and press the red x in the corner of the app(this doesn't delete the app off the iPod, just from the app switcher) The iPod battery life isn't so bad, my galaxy s2 is lucky to get 3 hours of game play with full brightness ! Anyway
  2. Ever since i upgraded my old iPhone 3GS to a much newer up to date and a hell of alot quicker Galaxy S2 i've been amazed by what you can do on phones these days, i came across this and thought it might be good for people who don't want to mount a fish finder in there boat, or go fishing landbased, it's amazing and i have no idea how they do it ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fhB-YGcElHI#!
  3. Berkley plastics have this message on the back
  4. I had one for 2 years and depending on what you are doing they are abit to small. we sold ours and bought a second hand Ally Craft Bay Raider for only a little bit more then what you are willing to spend on that Estuary Angler. I found with the boat you are really limited, you can only take it offshore on really good days, no pod or side decks on the boat made it very uncomfortable, the height of the sides and the carpet level take a while to get use to and make you feel uncomfortable in anything about smooth water. As you can see in this photo, i'm only 55-60kg and the boat moves a fair bit in the water. And with my current boat, i haven't got a water shot but it's alot more stable. As you can see in the photo there is alot more room in the boat. Have a look around, you can get alot of good boats around this time of year. That Estuary Angler would be for that price unpainted, feature a 30hp 2 cylinder 'teeth rather' engine, and not many features inside the boat, maybe a bimini. With Quintrex you are also paying for the name. A quick search on the web and i found these boats. http://www.boatpoint.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?R=12196469 http://www.boatpoint.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?R=12386383 http://www.boatpoint.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?R=12374984 In saying that there is nothing wrong with the Estuary Angler and you'd be happy with it. Goodluck mate
  5. Hey guys Well, today me and dad decided to go for a fish around Port Hacking in search for Kings with some live bait. Got to the livie spot and started burleying up, couldn't believe the fish we seen near the sand-flats, 30cm Whiting, thousands of Bream near legal, Sting Rays, even a Goat Fish !the flats were alive with fish. We then managed to get a a school of Mullet around our boat, had some small hooks out and tried our test to fill the tank up, we got around 10 when all of a sudden the Mullet disappeared! then they appeared again, but this time they were jumping out the water, i was like what is hell is going on, when all of a sudden my dad spots a fin! yeap, it was a Shark, so i quickly grabbed the first rod ready (SOL with 15lb braid/20leader/unweighted 4/0 hook) and threw a Mullet out, he was floating on the surface swimming around and he looked injured so i tried to keep him away from the school, the Shark noticed this, and grabbed the Mullet a few times but kept dropping him, like he was playing with him, anyway, we managed to get the Shark right next to the boat (what a sight) and i noticed it was a Bulllshark, not long after this he took my Mullet and made a run for it! i felt the power of this thing overwhelm my rod and reel (thinking to myself why the ** did i pick this rod for) and want do you know, my drag completely seized up (this is a reel that has never been dunked in water and always washed after use) and the line snapped off, was spewing.. but alteast i got to see him, i called it for around a meteter, wouldn't be 100% sure, i got a vid of it which i will upload later after editing it, was kinda upset though as the video didn't turn out well, the water is dark and you can hardly see the Shark Kept gathering bait hoping he would come back but nothing at all, so we got some more Mullet and headed off to Boat Harbour/Botany Bay mouth to soak them. As you can tell from the photo, it really was flat out there and perfect conditions for fishing But the day was slow, hooked up to one Kingie, or atleast i think it was, got me straight on the bottom. I need to upgrade my line i think, was using 30lb main/40 leader, which i should of grabbed for the Shark , still can't get over it) Kept fishing for a few Rock Cod, and got some Leatherjackets (whole Mullet! they know how to eat these things) but nothing else really, was disappointing but i will think from now on
  6. I have heaps but a few of the best would have to be - On the Hawkesbury a few weeks ago, moved into a nice quiet spot and anchored up. It was nice to get out of the wind, but after an hour we decided to move, reeled in and drove off, turned around a corner and the sunlight got in my eyes so i stood up and put my head down a little and i see that we left anchor out ! haha, but it was all good, the look on my face was priceless. - Burleying out off Port Hacking in Bate Bay when we decided to move, dove off after reeling the rods in and dove off. Stopped at the next stop and realized i left the berley bucket out and i got caught out the motor and the prop chopped it up. - Left a rod and reel in the rod rack with a brand new spool of 20lb Sunline Super PE on it, got to the ramp and the spool was empty ! what the f**k, the jighead on the the rod must of got caught on a tree or something. And being on the water so much i have seen quite a few stupid things from other boaties, one guy in a tinny told his kid (around 8 years old) to jump off the bow and to beach the boat while the boat was still moving ! he jumped off and almost got pulled under the boat but the guy stopped just in time and he was alright..
  7. Thanks yeah there was mate
  8. Thanks guys 6lb line, a spilt shot sinker and a peice of bread did the damage
  9. Hey guys I'm up at Port Macquarie and i'm here till friday. The weather has been good and the fishing has been even better ! i've gotten heaps of Bream and even a few Blackfish, been fishing off the breakwall, i kept trying different tactics till i found one that is pretty much firing for me now, getting lots of bream and not losing any gear, it doesn't involve a float and it doesn't involve 'smelly' bait Biggest bream so far has been 35 got him around 7ish last night, put an awesome fight up heaps of drag running on my little stradic but managed to get him in
  10. I love the S2, i love the Note, and i love the Galaxy Nexus (bit of a Samsung fanboy) i've got Galaxy Tab already so i'm gonna wait for the S3 to come out later on this year, sadly i've still got an old iPhone 3gs (feels like forever since i got it) but it does the job If Samsung does nothing about the S3 this year then i think i might bite the bullet and get the Galaxy Nexus due to the shape and well, it's a phone straight from google so i get updates straight away
  11. Nice Snapper ! I normally run my 3-6kg Trion with a 3000 SOL with 15lb braid and 20 leader
  12. Cheers mate, we got the tank itself off a friend for $100 but we had to buy a pump and all the lines, it ended up setting us back around $200, i think you can get the kit exactly like this ready to go in bias for $300 Thanks mate, the tank is 60L
  13. So after having a live bait tank for almost a year, we have been putting off installing it probably to use it. Anyway some how i managed to get dad to install this week and we tested it out this weekend. Here is the tank and everything we had to fit The bilge looked nice on the outside and not as bad as i thought it would We caught 20 poddies yesterday and put them in the tank 5am this morning while we were out on the Hawkesbury, they went good and lasted all day ! Don't know what i'm doing wrong on the fishing side of things, all the livies got knocked off my Flatties, lots of undersized fish but managed to get 5 good sized ones for the plate Got a trev, few leatherjacket and snapper as well nothing of real size, the jackets were around 40cm so we took them home Anyway, should start get some better fish now
  14. Great haul of squid, considering i just got a live bait tank in, i think i need a haul like that to get into the kings !
  15. Okay thanks mate, that's in the magazine
  16. Hey mate i made this up quickly in photoshop, got the picture from your site hope the orginal owner doesn't mind Anyway what do you think of this for your ad
  17. Hey Guys I'm designing a fishing magazine for my DT Major Project this year and since starting i have found i will need a few magazines of ads to balance the magazine out a little bit. So if anyone wants an ad, maybe Pure Fishing or Huey ? just let me know VIA pm, i won't charge you anything and if the magazine gets published and i can sell it, you have yourself some free advertising if you have an ad made up for InDesign send it to me and i'll add it to my magazine, if not send me some pictures of your business and what you do and i'll create something up.. Also, can you guys upload some photos i can use for my magazine ? pictures of Sydney Estuaries, rods, reels, fish (flathead, bream, whiting, flounder) mention your name and i'll add it into the magazine Thanks, i really appreciated it
  18. Pretty sure the only one there is sand last time i checked, will need a 4WD for that one without a doubt and i wouldn't launch anything too big there
  19. Nice fish you're getting better and better already
  20. That's an interesting read. One thing i hate about when i hear people catching big Flatties is 'it was over a meter long etc' yet i have never seen one on a ruler that was over a meter, anyone got photo proof of a Flathead a meter or over on a ruler ?
  21. Mate i would definably do that, my tinny was only worth $2500 but i always made sure everyone respected it and my gear. I've only got a commodore and i treat it like a baby and make sure everyone picks up their rubbish when they get out. I would go crazy if i had a skyline and someone spilled something on the floor or something like that. It's like everything i own, i look after it and if anyone wants to use it they have to look after it. If they don't, simple, they don't use it
  22. If anyone does that in my boat, i just simply don't take them out anymore. If they ask, i tell them what they have to do.
  23. Berkley Grubs work great in Pumpkinseed
