  1. WD 40???? The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and de-greaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Convair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts. Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you. When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! Then try it on your stove top ... Viola! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed. Here are some other uses: 1. Protects silver from tarnishing. 2. Removes road tar and grime from cars. 3. Cleans and lubricates guitar strings. 4. Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making them slippery. 5. Keeps flies off cows. 6. Restores and cleans chalkboards. 7. Removes lipstick stains. 8. Loosens stubborn zippers. 9. Untangles jewelry chains. 10. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks. 11. Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill. 12. It removes black scuff marks from t he kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks. 19. Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly! Use WD-40! 20. Gives a children's playground gym slide a shine for a super fast slide. 21. Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell). 35. Removes all traces of duct tape. 36. Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain. 37. Florida 's favorite use is: 'cleans and removes love bugs from grills and bumpers.' 38. The favorite use in the state of New York , WD-40 protects the Statue ofLiberty from the elements. 39. WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a little on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it's a lot Cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states 40. Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch. 41 WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag. 42. Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of Laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and rewash. Presto! The lipstick is gone! 43. If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start. P. S. 2. You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to expell wind from your body... The music is really loud, so you time your passings with the beat. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, And that's when you remember: you've been listening to your ipod. Cheers Mariner
  3. Only in Alaska ....... This guy raised an abandoned moose calf with his Horses, and believe it or not, he has trained it for lumber removal and, other hauling tasks. Given the 2,000 pounds of robust muscle, and the splayed, grippy hooves, he claims it is the best work animal he has. He says the secret to keeping the moose around is a sweet salt lick, although, during the rut he disappears for a couple of weeks, but always comes home.... Impressive !! Cheers Mariner
  4. A walk in the park Byron Look forward to those bed baths, hehehe Cheers Mariner Family
  5. Here's something you don't see every day. Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino - three of the greatest ivory ticklers of their day - playing pianos on the same stage at the same time. Brace yourself and make sure your sound is on because this show will rock you out of your seat. This is a once in a lifetime appearance and one you will not forget! Ron Woods of the Rolling Stones, Carl Perkins (Blue Suede Shoes) and others playing "Back-Up". A "Cameo Appearance" by Rod Stewart and all directed by Paul Schaeffer. Click on the link and enjoy. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xe5w0_ray...jerry-lee-lewis Cheers Mariner
  6. Use a wad punch first, slightly larger diameter than the drill bit. Then trim any remaining loose fibres with a sharp knife (Stanley) before you commence drilling. Cheers Mariner
  7. Good opportunity to show awareness to your regular boating partners of how to discharge them. With exception to the rockets, the hand and smoke flares can be discharged pretty well most places without causing alarm to others. We do them in the backyard - just tell the neighbours first. If they're like ours, they to will like to come and observe. Advise your local authorities first if necessary. Cheers Mariner
  8. Each year the seasons seem to change - call it El Nino or whatever. I guess a good indication of their arrival would be their showing at the Sydney fish market. How to catch one is another issue. I for one, have never seen a live specimen. I guess that's what makes them so intriguing. Good Luck Cheers Mariner
  9. I think you may be referring to the B52's. They weren't crabs but Rock Lobsters. have to ask though - has it healed up lol? Cheers Carl
  10. G'day Dave, It's been a few years, however my experience with Muddies has never really been overly rewarding east of Illawong. Possibly, that may be indicative of the locale (Illawong) that I lived. All that aside, I only ever caught Blue swimmers east of Como Bridge - did see a few train seats thrown off the bridge, but used to always get lucky with Blue Swimmers about 1/2 hour b4 and after the high tide around Balls Head and East of there. All my years (18) living on the Georges, I never caught a single crab in the Wonnie. I have been told (by a secure source) that if you put out fresh bait you can catch some in the Como Hotel on a Friday or Saturday night. Not sure if those ones are good eating though. Cheers Mariner

  14. What about a houseboat on the Hawksbury for a "mothership" That way, at least if the fish aren't biting, you have a nice retreat for an ale or two , also somewhere to cook your fare. Check the forecast before you leave home. I thought Bathurst would be a nice place for easter , do they still have the bike races then? Either way, have an enjoyable long weekend - watch the traffic. Cheers Mariner

  18. Definately looks the goods from the pics - well suited for what you have outlined as your intended usage. Good weather protection, and bunks for the kids and missus. All in all looks to have been well maintained. A compression test on the outboard, and a sea trial if at all possible would be recommended. Only gripe I would have is the small trailer wheels - could pose some issues. i.e - height from obstructions on some ramps, punctures (would need to have a spare). I would like to see the same wheels as the tow vehicle. If a puncture occurs then you have the vehicle spare tyre. Small issue, but nevertheless, one which can be addressed at a later date should you go through with the purchase. Good luck Cheers Mariner
  19. Roberta doesn't need any luck - she has the skill and determination to win. Best wishes Roberta, look forward to the photos of your successful endeavour. Cheers Mariner
