  3. Well done mate!!! Its catching something when nearly everywhere is quiet.
  4. I think if u use the platinum on the hds units u will get a real time 3d mapping on ur screen. Meaning you will be able to see the contours of the sea bed or where the potential drop offs.
  5. Congrats on the 1st and 2nd Jew!!! It cant get better than that. !st and 2nd in one hit.
  6. Do you still have the installation manual for the matrix 27? If you do it would say in there what colour the NMEA wires are and w/c one is input/output.
  7. Go to the Maritime main office at James Craig rd Annandale. Just follow the rd and its on the rigth hand side or else just go to any selected RTA branch.

  10. to FISHRAIDER. Its good that it worked out for you that day and thats one way of christening the new boat as well. Its always nice to hear families that enjoys a day out together on the water and just imagining kids faces when theyre hooked on.... FISH ON BUDDY. MAY THERE MORE FISHING REPORT THAT WE CAN GET OUT OFF YOU!!! JON
  11. Use the slim beauty knot with doubling the braid when connecting to ur leader. At least with this knot, the tag end of the leader will be facing the reel so wont get snagged on the guides when casting. Therefore you cast a bit further and avoid wind knots as much as possible.
  12. Tan, I would remove the braid then use ur 30 lb mono as backing then reconnect the 50lb braid you have left.
  13. Thats a hard to get good size bream you got there. Bonitos too. Good job!!!

  17. Good report there mate. Garfish are good for live bait.
  18. The Sol is not a fully waterproof reel only the drag is waterproof. So you wouldnt dunk it in saltwater. But the difference is the bearings. Theyve got some sort of rust protection on it but not all of them. Saying that Ive got the 2500Sol since it first came out and still going strong No rust last time I opened and serviced it so I would say they are good. Shimanos are good as well as I think they got the fluid drive which u can put oil at the maintainance port w/o leaking. Or If u want a full waterproof reel you have to get a stella or a saltiga. Im not a pro, dont know if theres any other reels in the shimano or daiwa range w/c is fully waterproof. Im sure some Raiders will be able to help u with this topic. Goodluck, JON

  24. Billfisher, Craig helped me on what motor to fit my dinghy. He didnt force the etecs on me but advised me which one to get for the amount of money Ive got or what the best value I can get. Even if I didnt buy the motor off him he was still happy to talk me thru how to install it properly on my dinghy. I reckon he is the type of guy that would be happy to help even he doesnt get anything out off it. See if you can get a dealer to do that for u. JON
  25. Pm SWORDFISHERMAN for advise at JB as I recall he fishes there alot and he can give advise on what to do.
