  9. Nathan, don't even think about fishing without rock boots and either watching a rock fishing safety video or go with someone experienced to teach you about waves, sets and lulls. Alex Bellissimo has a good video which is quite informative. Okay catching yakkas. This time of season i've found they're there but you've got to give them a little encouragement with berley. I only fish for them at night a few hours after sunset or a few hours after sunrise. Generally, i find otherwise, they're a bit hard to come by. Use a sabiki jig and attach a sinker at the bottom. Use a small float above so fish can grab the hook and give u a chance to strike. Use some berley to attract them. As other people have said, use some prawn, or worm or squid, or even yakka flesh on the hook if you can. Last week we were living baiting on the stones there. When we opened up the salmon's stomach we found the yakka head first in which was really interesting. Cheers.
  10. Hey Nathan, was this on saturday morning?
  11. Hi Guys, I usually use good quality prawns for blackie fishing. In lieu of that, what are my options? Pretty much scrap weed as i have none and i'll be fishing in the morning too!! Help. Cheers.
  12. Look at that grin!!!! haha that says it all, no story needed. Congrats mate on the catch, that's a ripper!!!! Rememberin that all your life.. Love the rod too! Cheers
  13. Man that was a beating!!! 69th minute response. .dayam...
  14. This is why maybe they did not give u the fight you were looking for, from the DPI website: What do they eat? Does your mate feed them anything? Why did he stock the dam?
  15. I can't comment on your situation, but i can comment on the Nitro Messiah! It's a very light rod for it's class. It's got plenty of power in it. Can cast a MILE!!!! very good casting rod. Especially with braid which is easier to load up. Good thing also is, if u break a section, send it back to the manufacturer with 60 or so bucks and they'll replace it for you, which is important to me - as if i broke a Shimano Tiralejo or Daiwa moonraker it'll be so painful. Cheers
  16. Might be a really silly Q but.. I was looking at my rods tonight and was wondering, why do rod makers choose a particular number of guides on the rods? Why that many? Why not less? Why not just have one at the tip - which is the least you could have?
  17. I WANT THIS CAR. what is it? heh
  18. How the hell. Is that parked on the beach? Literally?
  19. Get the Innovator Nitro Godzilla!!! I think theres a one peice version now. So light!
