  7. One of my mates has been buzzed by a small bullshark in preety similar circumstances on the sand flats up behind halvisons and i have also witnessed sharks free swiming within metres from the shore all around the bobbin head/apple trea area..
  8. There are still plenty of fish in the pittwater and plenty of kings, was getting smoked by some rather large kings last weekend and the middle of this week, but have also seen the increase in activity of pro's throughout broken bay and the pittwater
  9. Searching for kings in the pittwater and broken bay on saturday..
  10. Big smelly slabs of bait like mullet, tailor and salmon would be good but im sure they wouldnt be to fussed if a decent size live bait was put in front them either Like Swordfisherman said be very carefull on how you go by catching and handling them and make sure the boat you are in is of decent size as they have plenty of ticker and they just keep going once beside or inside the boat.. Broken bay seems to full of them at the moment
  11. Nice to meet you today mate Good to hear you fellas got into a few fish, unlucky on the jew front though, persistence has to pay off sooner or later doesnt it? Hope the big fella comes sooner then later mate.. Yeah the "motor incident" #$#@$#@$%$%$ Everything went to plan, then we had just gone inside juno and the motor cut out man it was frustrating, as we could see surface action all around us but we knew the smart option was to head back in...
  12. Olypmus C-760, 10x optical zoom, 3.2mp Has been an absolute cracker of a camera for me and has taken a little bit of beating on my journeys, but defiently a good buy.. Rob

  15. Cheers fella's, The only sp's i had where 3 inch BM and a 1-3kg heartland rod that strugles on 35cm bream so didnt really want to push my luck to much , just stuck with the technique that was bloody productive at the time..
  16. Got a day off today so i had to make the most of the time, We got down to brookyln ramp by 6:00am and headed off to gather some bait as we planned to drift for a few flathead, perfect size yakkas where coming up on every drop, thought to myself this is good real good, decided to put one out the back of the boat just to see any passing bonito, salmon or if we where lucky some passing kingies... A minute after letting out 20m of line the float started going nuts and then that cry we all like happened and the reel screamed and i was on, the next 10 mins i did battle with my first kingy for 2006 and it was good to be back into them, the fish ended up going 63cm and went strait onto ice 3/4 into the fight when i spoted it was a king i also saw around 8 fish following, so told my mate to hook up a livie and get it out there, as soon as it the water BOOF and he was on, it was short lived as this was no rat and took him to the bottom in a matter of seconds, i had a good laugh while still batteling mine... For the next hour we ended up with 10 hookups 4 kings and 1 salmom, it was uttter caos as we had double hook ups a few times and as my mate was using lighter then usual gear for them he fought a rat of 62cm for aprox 25mins..In this time i got busted up numerous times and also caught my biggest kingy to this date or 76cm and had to net the bugger by myself We ended up running out of livies as we couldnt catch any more but it was fun while it lasted...Every yakka we had counted for a hook up..awesome stuff Fish where caught in the pittwater cheers, Rob
  17. Gday, bluefin aprox how fast where you guys trolling when after the frigates? Heading out tommorow depending on the swell situation Cheers, Rob
  18. Started when i was 4 so that would make it 15 years of pure fun and enjoyment..Loved every minute of it and cant wait to get stuck into a few fish
  19. We where chasing a few bream and whiting in the shallows today when 2-3 SOLID kings beached up half a school of big hardy heads but moved on too quicky for me to change to a lure..Was amazing to watch..good sign but defiently very dissapointed about the 3.5 tonne catch taken from the area oh and we picked up a few whiting and bream to 36cm throwing nippers on sandpatches amongst the weed
  20. Great report and pics mate, top effort.. Good ole aussie salmon seems to defiently brighten some days when things are a little slow..
  21. How good is that!!! Would defiently like to thank Australian Bass Angler as once again they have come up with the goods, really apreciate it guys and of course many thanks to Ken as we wouldnt be on this site if it wasnt for him, doing a great job mate, keep it up Cant wait to watch them!!! If anyone lives around my local area(hornsby hts) and is dieing to see them, they are more then welcome to borrow them in the new year, as i will be away until the 8th of jan.. Leave me a PM in the new year and we cant sort something out Cheers, Rob
  22. Im no expert with fishing lures on the beach but if i was to give it ago i would be looking at something in 60grm + range and depending on what size line you are using a bit of weight helps to get it out the back especially if the winds onshore, maybe try and get a raider the size of a pilchard?? I have caught salmon on all tides but the higher the better i reckon.0 .im sure someone has given it ago with some success??? Rob
  23. Sorry to hear about that pete, what a bloody hassle just after you have mastered the art of the sydney king..hope things turn out better then they are and you are on the water asap.. Good to hear you gotta a few of the fellas onto fish aswell.. rob
  24. My old man gave it ago a fews year back when i was out having a surf at the entrance and could see masses of large whiting, so he tied 3m of fishing line to his speedos and swam out with live nippers..ended up with 6 fish that where all stonkers.. haha picture a man walking out of the surf with a fish in his hands chucking them in a bucket and then to turn around and walk back out again to come back in 2 mins later with another one...was quite funny seeing peoples reactions.. i was hoping the biggest bluenose bream of central coast would hit so hard that it would take off and take his speedos with it, kinda lucky it didnt happen when i think about it..
