I usually put them on quite similar to how a prawn would be put on, start from the tail and usually bring the barb through the bottom of thehead(sounds cruel i know but very effective)9 times out of 10 fish will attack the head so i have been told and from previous experiences it seems close to the truth and yeah long shanks are the way to go..

you have talked this one up, better be good bring it on, im sure i wont be dissapointed!!!!

Sunday most likely heading locally to give the electric motor ago on its first trip on the canoe,most likely not wetting a line doesnt worry me as i have tuesday- friday off

Solid looking fish mate, good stuff.. Reguarding the ticks in these kind of places i havent got one yet while chasing bass in the scub.(spent around 30hrs easy)...my tips are too put a hat on, where a long sleeved shirt with a collor and were it up.. ..i find leaches to be more annoying Cheers, ROb

Fished the northen beaches on saturday night for around an hour before dusk for 3 just legal whiting whith one pushing 30cm and a decent bream that went around 32cm but was a fat little fella and put up a cracker of a fight on the light gear..All fish where caught on nippers and all released as we where having a roast that night.. Was meant to be hanging around for a jew seshion but of course i left the bloody squid in the freezer Cheers, Rob

I dont know why i buy them as i read them from front to back usually in around 30-45 mins unless its as thick as me wrist.. Im a sucker for any fishing article and buy usually NSW fishing montly and try and limit one of other of the two more expensive ones, either being modern fishing or fishing world and usually some how allways end up leaving with them both.. Also lucky enough to have i think around 80 issues of Fishing australia which my father collected..they only cost $2.50 back then and are a wealth of knowlesdge..still seem to dig through them now n then..think they are 15-20 yrs old?? has no dates on them Cheers, Rob

Well all these captures of bass got me itching to get into them, the area i fished doesnt usually hold that many in winter but still produced the goods this arvo..Well after casting where ever i could get one in between the tree and trunks along 2km of the waters edge using a few plastics and hardbodys with no luck.. I came across some water that was crystal clear and was filled with weed/reed patches everywhere so i decided to put on a surface lure thinking i had no hope as it was just to clear the water and worked it for a while for nothing, then in absolute awww i watched as a decent bass rise up and stalk the lure but then to dive back down leaving a large boil on the surface..I had never seen anything like it before and thought who cares if i dont get any as that just made my day..Well after another 30 odd cast i finally watched him prey apon the lure and slurp it up..i was back in awww mode again and didnt realise i was on until he dived for the weed bed and took a bit of drag..unfortunately he fought like a wet sock.. Got the fish in for some happy snaps and while doing so i came across a rather looking raw wound on its side..???? very odd looking wound..looks like a bit of bacteria could be in it? He swam off perfectly fine and i searched for more but no more luck... Cheers, Rob

A few mates and myself have been getting a fair few..this is the average size of them with a few bigger pushing around 38cm to the fork..allso lost a few bigger ones..Had only one fishless night in the past 5 occasions.. Rob..

Was chasing a few Ep's the other night and usually have never really seen anything other cars down there and what do i see a bloody fisheries ute turn up..I did not have a license but was able to sweet talk my way out of it as it was two very nice females i used every bit of charm i had left in me to get out of that one i tell ya..told them i would buy one on the way home (which i did) and they said they where gonna come back an check..i hope they come quite often as they where decent sorts..

You are brave men to battle that, good to see you where rewarded for your efforts BUT i was quite happy to be infront of a heater and tv watching dads present - fishing DVDs

Before work this morning i put my rod in the back of the car intending on a fish on the way home from work..Was anxious and frustrated watching every minute of the clock tick by all day then 5:00pm hit and i drove strait to the intended spot where i had a half hearted go at it the night before chasing my EP virginity with numerous follows but no hook ups.. Well i got down to the spot tonight and saw a mate who had just got their and was having a flick their aswell..As i had no success on the HB's the night before i thought id tie on the trusty ole 3 inch bass minow Casted the little sucker and before i knew it i came up tight and thought ohh farkk snagged allready, nope it was just the start of a solid run..after a good little battle, i came up trumps and brought the fish to shore and there it was my very first EP...Called the mate over and he couldnt believe his eyes and got him to take a happy snap and then released him.. MY first EP went 33cm Well to my amazement over the next the 30 mins i caught a further more 3 EP's ranging from 25-37cm and heaps and heaps of folows..they where following it within 2ft of me..great to watch (sorry didnt get a pick of 37cm one as he was hooked rather deep and i wanted to send him on his way ) sorry for the long report..
