IT IS ...NOT... CREST-TO-TROUGH WAVE HEIGHT. VALUES ARE GIVEN IN BOTH METERS(M) AND FEET(FT). PER - PERIOD OF TIME IN MINUTES(MIN) FROM ONE WAVE TO THE NEXT. EVALUATION SEA LEVEL READINGS CONFIRM THAT A TSUNAMI HAS BEEN GENERATED WHICH COULD CAUSE WIDESPREAD DAMAGE. AUTHORITIES SHOULD TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION IN RESPONSE TO THIS THREAT. THIS CENTER WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR SEA LEVEL DATA TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT AND SEVERITY OF THE THREAT. A TSUNAMI IS A SERIES OF WAVES AND THE FIRST WAVE MAY NOT BE THE LARGEST. TSUNAMI WAVE HEIGHTS CANNOT BE PREDICTED AND CAN VARY SIGNIFICANTLY ALONG A COAST DUE TO LOCAL EFFECTS. THE TIME FROM ONE TSUNAMI WAVE TO THE NEXT CAN BE FIVE MINUTES TO AN HOUR, AND THE THREAT CAN CONTINUE FOR MANY HOURS AS MULTIPLE WAVES ARRIVE. FOR ALL AREAS - WHEN NO MAJOR WAVES ARE OBSERVED FOR TWO HOURS AFTER THE ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL OR DAMAGING WAVES HAVE NOT OCCURRED FOR AT LEAST TWO HOURS THEN LOCAL AUTHORITIES CAN ASSUME THE THREAT IS PASSED. DANGER TO BOATS AND COASTAL STRUCTURES CAN CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL HOURS DUE TO RAPID CURRENTS. AS LOCAL CONDITIONS CAN CAUSE A WIDE VARIATION IN TSUNAMI WAVE ACTION THE ALL CLEAR DETERMINATION MUST BE MADE BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES. ESTIMATED INITIAL TSUNAMI WAVE ARRIVAL TIMES AT FORECAST POINTS WITHIN THE WARNING AND WATCH AREAS ARE GIVEN BELOW. ACTUAL ARRIVAL TIMES MAY DIFFER AND THE INITIAL WAVE MAY NOT BE THE LARGEST. A TSUNAMI IS A SERIES OF WAVES AND THE TIME BETWEEN SUCCESSIVE WAVES CAN BE FIVE MINUTES TO ONE HOUR. 13. Hi Tom and thanks for sharing that with us all. For those of you who do not know what "black dog" refers to it is a term used by those who have suffered or suffer from forms of depression and or bi polar disorder. The Black Dog Institute is a not-for-profit, educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in depression and bipolar disorder. Depression takes on many forms and as Roberta says we all suffer from it at some time during our life. We can get depressed over events in our lives but sometimes we may need a little help to pull ourselves back on track. Women can suffer it post natally. Tom you are right in saying that 1 in 4 suffer. It is great to see that you have found the way back to enjoying life Tom - keep up the good work and tight lines Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  20. WE HAVE JUST VALIDATED OUR 10,000th REGISTERED MEMBER At this point it is appropriate to congratulate all our past and present moderators, past and present sponsors and our membership base. This website was the dream of Mr Ken Alexander who handed it over to Stewy, Grant and myself to continue the vision. The vision was to create a space where men, women and young folk could meet to exchange ideas and help each other to enjoy this most wonderful sport of fishing. There were those that knocked us for even thinking we could achieve this outcome. There were those that said "a woman should not be involved in men's business". That is all behind us as we celebrate the growth and the development of one of the BEST FISHING FORUMS in Australia. We cannot make this happen without the help that we receive from all areas. Those members who post frequently, assist us at socials and fishraider events, donate freely of their time and donate food at socials. Raiders go out of their way to show others new and old, the techniques they have learned from the information shared on fishraider. Raiders are now everywhere, at every boat ramp you will meet one, in tackle shops, pulled up at stop signs with fishraider stickers on their boats. Be proud to be part of this special community for it is indeed, special. Our webmaster deserves a very special mention. He is an IT specialist in many areas and he is a fishraider. He came to us and offered his help and he has been our tower of strength over the past few years. He has upgraded this website to be one of the finest and a big thanks from us all. Lastly, but not least we have to introduce our 10,000th member who just happens to be a young man of 6 years of age. His name is J.J. He is a keen angler already and aligns perfectly with our vision to show the younger folk our craft and our passion. This is done to ensure that the sport of fishing is carried on for generations to come. Raiders rule - be proud and spread the word. Regards Donna, Stewy and Grant Your Admin Team
  21. Thanks very much everyone we did work hard to get it all happening. We have had 69 people join the forum since we re-opened at 6pm last night - incredible Cheers mrsswordie
  22. This is a report from our Bali correspondant fast_edi Today I get the marlin 38 kg on light tackle PE 4 and jig 60 gram { for spinning jig } because this the season for spanish mackerel {tenggiri in indonesia} in the front kuta beach area, and 2 spanish macarel 5 kg and 7 kg . We use the traditional boat and small enggine 15 hp, in that location lot of school fish for bait that why many big fish come around to kuta beach area. It's take 30 minute to bring the fish out of the water, because i dont want lose the fish i have to follow him after he pull my line out about 200 meter my heart pumping after i saw the fish jump out the water few time, i'm worry because the small hook on the small spinning jig, but step by step and slowly i bring the fish close to the boat around 10 meter he run again with the high speed about 75 meter , it,s fun and scary if lose .
  23. Thanks Craig and yes we have some very good plans in progress. We will be posting info soon on all this.
