  2. Happy birthday Pete. Leave some jewwies and blackfish for us . =D
  3. Sharks and tailor I don't know about hairtail as I doubt they'd be on the bottom.
  4. Good work Zarn. Hopefully we pick up a few tomorrow. Current pb standing at 74 so anything over 80 I'd be stoked. Alan
  5. Lots off problems with wind knots and I had 1 spool which kept breaking under the weight class. Definitely not worth headaches. You do get what you pay for 30 bucks per 150m.
  6. Big front hatch at the front and a lot of room at the back. Beauty of having the hobie pa14's Cheers al
  7. Hi raiders on the 26 march did my first jewwie Sesh with fellow raider Paul on the yaks. Been chasing pelagics and kings with nothing but rats so thought we'd try our luck on the Jews again. Pretty quite night I managed a 38cm bream whilst Paul lost 4 squid from having the drag too tight but managed one. 27th march second Jew trip of the year Paul ventured out to the spot first. I joined him shortly after after I finished work 10:30pm. Paul managed 1 squid which we stripped up my first castes landed me a 53cm flathead nice and fat. Paul had work the next morning so he left 11:30 and I left him with the flatty for dinner. Hours passed unable to catch another squid or livie. 1:30am landed myself 3 yakkas then went quite so off to my honey hole to wait for a Jew or 2. Anchored up and castes the yakkas out on two rods. 2:30 hits and I get my first run he drops the bait now waiting for second run for a strike. 10 seconds past and he goes I strike lost him, put the rod down and he comes again.zzzzzzzzz . I strike again lost him again thinking to myself WTF. Place the rod down 20 seconds past he come again this time I finally sink the hooks and up comes an 81cm fish. Now 3:30 and I've been sitting up anchored the last hour using only dead baits so I pull the anchor in search of more livies. It was another hour and a half till I land the one and only yakka. Was getting tired so I thought I'll just give it one last shot if nothing I scoot. Anchor up cast out not even a minute and zzzzzzz this time I hook up solid immediately . Good 3-4 minute tussle and boated the second Jew going 83 cm. No more livies so decided to call it a night. Just a quick question has that happened to anyone before where the Jew comes back even after striking 2 times? And all within 20 seconds? Tight lines and happy Easter Alan Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

      Paul

Don't forget to include the 53 cm flatty ;) Forgot to take a photo. Sorry mate

  9. Nice work. Some solid eps on surface lures. Always fun The snake looks a bit thin for an adder but I could be wrong. And a bit too thick to be a brown tree snake.( very unlikely ) Pics are unclear but looks like its got a very diamond shaped head. if it is an adder looks likes it's very lost roaming around on sand lol

    Fish ID

First is frigate Second one is what daysfishin said but more commonly called banjo sharks.
  11. That fish is a longtom. Teeth can be pretty scary :S And yes that's A bonito
  12. Wow now that's a big bonito Must've pulled hard
  13. Nice work buddy but unfortunately not a bonito It's called frigate mackerel and they are gun livies off the rocks for game fishos (kings marlin tuna) And they are harder to catch in my opinion than bonito Very picky Alan

    which reel

I'd stick with shimano. Saltist is renoun for crapping itself (gears) yes it looks good but won't work as hard as a saragosa can I've caught kings Jews all on my saragosa it's been dipped in the water dropped in the sand and til today it still works like it did out of the box minus cosmetics. 3 years and still going strong. All I've had to do it giv it a hose every now and again. I don't believe the salina or saltist would be nearly as tank.
  15. Without a doubt sustainfg or stradic fj Sustain u can get for spot on 300 stradic between 180-220
  16. Yea Paul. Just an update tried again 2 nights ago and managed to take home 8 would've been more if a brand a net.
  17. Damn jayson your killing the flatties. Unbelievable you actually caught the tagged flatty. I wonder how the previous winner collected his prize without the tag? Alan
  18. My mate just got back from overseas so went for a flick to catch up. He doesn't know how to fish so I thought I'll give him some bread to catch yakkas whilst I try for some squid. That's when he landed the first blackfish .Blackfish at night??? I quickly switched to a hook and we landed a total of 7 big blackfish I kept 5 mate kept 2 but among them are the biggest blackfish I've caught or seen. I could not find a ruler but guessing a minimum of 45 cm? We left them biting 2 am Has anyone caught blackfish at night? I was amazed thought I was going crazy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  19. The salmon hav been so thick for the past 2-3 weeks and the mac tuna have even showed up. We went out on tuesday water was very dirty which may account for the lack of bonnies and mac but the salmon were still out to play
  20. Good work Jeff I'll give you a buzz on the weekend. A couple of the boys and myself are going out on Tuesday if your keen. I'm still yet to crack the meter mark. Alan
  21. Hi fisherking Myself and a few raiders were able to get into them on small metals the first session we went 2 weeks ago and then the most recent trip they were being pain and more picky. Changed to a 1/24th jig head and a 2" plastic and managed everything from bonito to salmon to mactuna and tailor. Mate was using a 1/16th jig head same plastic and did not catch a thing.
  22. Thanks for posting this Roberta I fish a lot after work and always bring my pa with me to work. Problem is I don't hav any secure parking. I hav to park on the street sometimes I am able to keep an eye on it. If I can't get the good spot I just park on the busiest street where it's unlikely for anyone to carry it. But I still worry all the time. Im loving the idea of the lock alarm. Do you know where I can get one within Australia either online or in a shop..? Cheers Alan
  23. If your looking for flathead I'd be heading more up river to grays point/ mansion point
  24. Looks like a flounder to me haha I've never seen anything like it. Closest thing to looking like it is a moth
